  1. You could buy a second hand stocker for about $300 but it may not last either so best to get hypergear to rebuild yours (if indeed it turns out to be the turbo).
  2. Got a pic?
  3. Well if you haven't done the radiator in recent years take it out and get the top taken off and either clean it out or get a new one if necessary. If its getting blocked it will still work better with a 100km breeze going through it than when stationary.
  4. Sure have!
  5. Get the bigger Walbro or equivalent Deatschwerks or if you want Japanese I think the Denso is the same pump as Nismo/Tomei/HKS but cheaper. Anything but a Bosch 044 - I've got one in a steel case insulated inside and outside and its still far too noisy!
  6. The brakes themselves are great...but I got carried away at Hampton Downs a couple of weeks ago and got some serious metal to metal in the brakes. In fact they have been machined and look ok but the NZ agents for D2s cannot supply replacement rotors - only pads. I have asked around and the only source I have found are Race Brakes and they will be AP rotors (of which D2s are copies). I haven't tried the Aussie rotor manufacturers yet but will do.
  7. They lied. You can't tune a stock ecu - get a Nistune chip/
  8. Joe did mine - depends on how much work you can do yourself and how cheap you can source the parts - I got all the parts cheap from a guy wrecking an R33 GTR so total cost was around $2K I think but could be as much as $3k or more. Maybe save yourself the hassle and look out for a manual turbo Stagea - they are not too dear these days!
  9. Definitely wrong. Where are you? In Auckland go see Joe Kyle... he has added turbos to heaps of RB25DEs or just buy this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/nissan/engines/auction-653928499.htm
  10. So yes I have 8 pot 330mm D2s on the front (same as K sports maybe?) and R32 GTR brakes on the rear but I think the D2s were an extravagance (need replacement rotors at over $1000 now) and would recommend the GKTech (its an Aussie company) big brake kit if it fits the Stagea (I think it should): http://www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=67726
  11. I have a rear strut brace which I figured would stiffen up the rear of the wagon. It is hard to know how one would measure its effectiveness but I feel it is probably more use than the front strut brace (which I run as well).
  12. RB26 bovs are pretty robust.
  13. My engine is stock bottom end but if you're going to do rings and bearings do the little end bolts as well.
  14. Get your calculator (or phone) out and convert that to litres/100km
  15. Benefit for a street car - it will be legal.
  16. Yes they have...this: I reckon a Hypergear G3.5 highflow will do a good job of the desired task, the delivery will give monster pull without being a pig to drive. and see also: Look at the rb25 dyno results thread. It's not rocket surgery. People don't have to tell you what to do, you can figure it out yourself sometimes! and forget the GT35
  17. What are you going to do if you get a puncture? Use the money you would have paid someone to chamfer your pads to buy a decent jack and if you don't know how to get the pads out do some searching - its not that difficult. Also I believe there is a material you can put behind the pads to reduce squealing.
  18. High profile for comfort low profile for handling. if you go very low profile your speedo will be out quite a bit. 205 is too narrow...I had 235 on mine.
  19. ^^^ what he said... Read the thread (or the last twenty or so pages... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/110680-oil-control-in-rbs-for-circuit-drag-or-drift/?&hl=sk+oil+control
  20. NB free restrictor offer now ended!
  21. Another update -the FF 27W90 is designed for front drive all in one gearbox and diff applications (guess that doesn't mean you can't use it in your LSD but it may not provide the same protection as the 75W 140).
  22. Its readily available in NZ from Nissan or from Motul dealers (its made by Motul). If your local Nissan dealer doesn't have it they should be able to order it for you as its specified for the latest GTR. This is the Motul version: http://www.motul.com/nz/en/products/108?f%5Bapplication%5D=141&f%5Brange%5D=25 and this is the Nismo (it is a slightly higher spec): http://www.motul.com/nz/en/products/153?f%5Bapplication%5D=141&f%5Brange%5D=25 Quick look on Ebay reveals an Aussie supplier: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motul-Gear-Competition-75W140-1-0L-Diff-Transmission-Gear-Oil-/140797222944?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20c82b2020
  23. Use Loctite on the screws
  24. Any new installation will require quite a few hours to set up properly. Touch up tunes should be a lot less.
  25. Yes Link make plug in ecus for Nissans, evos, Toyotas etc. They also make a wire in version which can be adapted to almost anything. I have a G4 plug in (the R34 version to suit the Stagea plug since I have a manual conversion). I think the only mod necessary was a wire from the TPS to enable the Atessa ( I didn't install it - the tuner did).
