  1. I assumed you had an ebay turbo because to my knowledge the Garrett GT3540 come with 0.63 (mine) 0.82 or 1.06 exhaust housings whereas the cheap knockoffs come in a variety of a/rs. In any case pretty sure you won't be able to low mount one. Mine only just fits with my custom high mount:
  2. If Hypergear rebuild the stock turbo I presume (you can check) that they will use all steel wheels. If you want a brand new turbo the GT3076 would suit for 250 - 300kw.There are a few sidemount injectors you could get -about 500-600 should do you. I have Deatschwerks 550 on mine.
  3. I guess its a cheap Ebay turbo. However for 250kw you should just get Hypergear to highflow your turbo then you won't have any installation hassles. If you want more power a GT3076 will low mount with a 10mm spacer and make 300kw on 98 or more on E85 if you want later and be much more responsive than a GT35/40.
  4. Have a read of the RB30 turbo results thread and see what people make with the different turbos. If you already have an RB25 turbo you could consider getting it rebuilt by Hypergear, or you could get a GT3076 or read the Precision thread.
  5. More to the point is what exhaust housing have you got on the GT3540? I think you'll be scratching to fit a GT3540 on a low mount (not saying it can't be done). Have you got an RB25DET or have you put a 30 block on it? What is your power goal? I would say the GT35/40 is too big for an RB25 and bound to lack response. I have an RB3540 with a .63 exhaust housing on my RB30/25 and I don't notice any lag. If your power target is 300kw or below there's no need to change the inlet manifold. I guess you know a screamer pipe is illegal most places.
  6. Even in the first picture that oil cooler doesn't look to be seating properly. You might need to take it off and inspect the threads and replace or install correctly?
  7. And watch out for the mufflers. Very annoyed to find the 3in tip I bought narrows down to 2 3/4 inside which may not sound a lot but the full 3in would flow nearly 20% more so I am going to have to change it.
  8. If you look up the splitfire website it will tell you which coils fit. My preference 1. New OEM if you can get them at a good price 2. Splitfire 3. Yellowjackets None of the rest. This one I think: http://www.kudosmoto...005-p-1115.html Actually at $410 plus postage I think the Yellowjackets would be the better buy: YJ-RB2526-S2 http://www.performance-wise.com/userimages/procart28.htm
  9. Dunno I had a GTR bov on my RB25DET with a highflowed stock turbo running at 15-16psi and had no problems.
  10. I have 330mm D2s (same as Ksport, copy of AP) and both my 17in rims clear ok -
  11. I have some lightweight 17 x 8.5 rims for the track because I can use ex NZV8 series slicks which I can buy for $200 a set only half worn. See what size slicks you can get in 17in at a good price and buy rims to suit. For my street tyres I have a set of TE37 17 x 9in - something like that would be good if you can get them at a reasonable price.
  12. You said early on that you had a sump breather running to the cam covers!!? I have no head drain and two 1.0mm restrictors. I have drilled and tapped two holes as high as possible in the sump forward of the dip stick and run one hose to the top of the catch can and one to the bottom for a drain (might stick a one way valve in it as some have suggested). I now get no oil coming out of the cam cover vents. The oil which was being pushed out at extended WOT (this is on an RB30/25) was going nicely back down the drain. On my last outing I got some oil coming out of the catch can breather after a few laps probably because I have overdone the overfilling trick (poss 7L or even more) so I will reduce it to 6L and I expect it will be fine.
  13. Personally I would put the widest tyres that can fit. Alternatively buy what size is more readily available at the right price but get a quality tyre.
  14. I use 255 40 17 Continental Contisport Fulda (a few types) Bridgestone Potenza - various.
  15. Any quality (preferably synthetic) atf will do the job.
  16. Where is "here"? How much power are you making and what is your target for the future? I believe the R33 transfer box is stronger than the R34 - I don't know about the R32. If your R32 trans is fine I would be inclined to stick with it. If the R34 diff is off a GTR then it is 3.545:1 compared to your current 4.1:1 - quite a bit higher geared - do you want that? Plus I think it is longer so if you don't change over the whole set-up you will need to modify your driveshaft. It is probably also 10 - 15 years old so probably better to buy a new 1.5way LSD.
  17. ^^^like he said. 225 is too small for 9in rims anyway - try to get some matching 8in rims for the rear.
  18. In that case pull the engine, take the head off and then decide whether to fix it (clean the lifters, check the head, replace head gasket) or get a second hand engine.
  19. I run 255s on my 9in ....for 9.5 go 265
  20. Well yes you'd just be pressure testing the whole system with the heater full on and looking for the leaks! I got a heater core for my last Stagea (I'm on my third C34!) brand new from the local radiator shop - once they see it they can match it up - they are common with a number of other cars.
  21. Sorry I'm too far away to help but when my mother started to have problems the local hospital has a responsibility to provide support services and they send someone to do an assessment and decide on x hours per week help if necessary and to provide handrails in the shower etc. Hopefully there is a similar system where you are. Good luck! Bob
  22. Ideal for 235 is 8 or 8 1/2 in 9 is ok anything more is not.
  23. I suspect the NZ Supertourers point the way things are going. The cars are identical apart from some body panels and badges - control chassis, wheels and tyres, 7L chevvy engine, control sequential gearbox, Link computers etc which doesn't stop the publicity department from urging people to support the "Holdens" or "Fords"! and they are saying - look out for the "Nissans"! The engines - on the positive side they are dry sumped - on the down side they only produce 575 hp - less than some RB30s! http://www.v8st.co.n.../technical.html
  24. Here is a link to Canman's car computer: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/100766-another-world-first-mfd-upgrade.html
  25. Should fit fine - I put a BM57 in my Stagea no problems - are the pipes the right number and in the right places? Replacing ABS with ABS? BTW did you try replacing your brake fluid first??
