  1. They are outdated 80s turbo-tech with 360 degree journal bearings. As a pair they are the extremely laggy and generally don't see full boost till at least 4500rpm
  2. Check the plug to the solenoid with a multimeter, I find if the factory solenoids aren't energized (powered) they are stuck in a blocking mode which creates unlimited boost.
  3. Hmm RB25 from a series 2 R33? Pretty sure they take coilpacks with builtin ignitors whereas RB20 splitfires required an external ignitor. I'm not 100% sure though.
  4. Is that wierd silverness on the manifold a ceramic coat?
  5. Catco last I looked were the only company who made cat converters that actually pass emissions and are have been certified by EPA testing. My car had a 2.25" Magnaflow compliance cat on it, compliance shop sure did a bodgy job on the flanges and cat temp sensor though.
  6. I assume your using the wire loop at the rear of the engine? Cheap timing lights tend to read double or half while using it.. i can't remember. Best place to get a timing signal is from coil #1
  7. Go to all the trouble of doing a 100,000km service, then neglect to set the timing? The answer is obviously get a good timing light.
  8. Hopefully they didn't send you lines to suit V-Spec brembo as they're completely different to what the Sumitomo calipers need.
  9. From what I've researched, those cheap chinese copies don't bolton even if it was the right gearbox. Almost always the provided circlip is useless and no matter of messing around will make the shifter fit correctly.
  10. Behind the radio, that area. there will be a white rod attached to the servo door actuator (which lets cold or hot air depending on position), best to find it from the passenger side.
  11. Gates make radiator upper and lower hoses for RBs
  12. Most likely the servo door actuator, very common problem where the cold solder joints in the plug crack from old age/vibration. It will sit there not receiving power on the last selected setting, sometimes a bump in the road etc might momentarily complete the electrical connection and the door will change position.
  13. I hope you didnt do the test while inside a garage or under shade, that will trigger the sunload sensor warning.
  14. 32 N1 turbos = lag. 80s tech journal bearing turbo.
  15. I still run the Gizzmo MS-IBC, instructions are rather basic but otherwise I've been really happy with it.
  16. Where are you located? then we can help point you towards a decent engine rebuilder in your area.
  17. Are you sure your pads aren't down to the backing plates or down to the wear indicator (wear indicators squeel)? Bendix Ultimates are a poor choice to use at the track, I wouldn't be suprised if they were chewed up during the track day.
  18. I don't see how this belongs in forced induction.
  19. With the engine running, one of the hoses will be sucking air in like a vacuum cleaner, just put your thumb over it. That one will be the one going to the intake manifold/engine.
  20. Stockers are 370cc. You do know if you go bigger injectors you will need an aftermarket ECU and a tune to suit (1000+). If they are leaking from the rubber o-ring, you are better off replacing those o-rings.
  21. Somewhere in this thread will be a list of GW distributors, I got 4 bottles of S6000 directly from the SA distributor at $60 per bottle over a year ago. As far as S6000 goes I'm not sure if there will be any left as it was discontinued, and as far as SynX 6000 goes I haven't seen it yet although I have seen SynX 3000 in Repco, most likely you will have to go straight to the distributor for it (should be cheaper too). edit: I couldn't find the list, but I just remembered at the time I emailed GW for the closest distributor via: http://www.gulfwestern.com.au/Contact%20Us.html
  22. My bits were done by Ceramic Coat (division of Pacemaker), pretty much everyone in SA uses them (including horse power in a box): check out what I had done: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/352084-keeping-heat-inside-the-exhaust-manifold-turbo-housing-dumps/page__view__findpost__p__5688632
  23. Yes you kinda do, without being attached to anything that vacuum hose will be sucking in unmetered air (dirt, grease and what other shit is in your enginebay)
  24. I went into my local Repco today for a oil filter and noticed there was no Motul engine oils at all, don't think I saw anything Motul at all.
