  1. just dug this up from an old thread. http://www.australianauto.com.au/HTML/Imag...Shoot%20Out.pdf http://rotationperminute.blogspot.com/2009...comparison.html grain of salt?
  2. good thread. before: after
  3. vice grips with a rag so it doesnt scratch up the caliper. do the outer most pad first. push it as hard up to the pistons as you can, top and bottom. once the pad is loose slip it further back toward the hub and squeeze the grips, again on the top and bottom. put the new pad in. repeat for the inner pad. the main thing that i have found it that slipping the old pad back a bit helps get a good pressure on the pistons. did my rears today, once the car is up and the rims are off its a 5 min job per side. the fronts are a little harder with the twin piston, but only 5-10 mins. that is with the pad almost down to the metal, so the piston has to move a long way. edit: once of these http://www.motor-factors.com/osc/eshop/images/00028.jpg
  4. ow, its done then. guess what santa is bring me.
  5. ryan i'm up for a ku36 control tyre for 2010. marty, josh and yourself are running ku36. my 595rs need a refresh for 2010, so i'll grab some ku36 (would have liked to test the rsr tho...). you just have to turn up to the wrx days. tho if the times go up, im going back to 595. lol
  6. car looks fantastic. total shock to anyone who didnt know there was an rb26 under there.
  7. doing PI instead. have fun in the car park guys....
  8. just reporting in. got my standard r33 turbo flowed last week. just to the next power level ~230rwkw. only after the beerings went, i wasnt searching for more power. but going full metal wheels, with the track day action was a must. install pain in the ass. water lines need stuffing around. bending, unbolting, swearing, skin off knuckles etc be prepared for trauma. results http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...60#entry4948901 power and torque are up, but so is the lag. i'm getting use to it, having not driven a garret or hks i cant compare. but it feels like it pulls harder than stock. track performance definite benefit at philip island undecided of benefit at winton, have to swap up gears with more power, loosing time. have to keep the turbo above 3.5k, means high revs in 2nd and spinning the tyres. lost of fun, but not the fastest way around.
  9. R33 RB25DET Standard internals Standard Injectors Standard fuel pump Standard fuel pressure reg jjr dump jjr cat 3-3.5" apexi/jasma exhaust pfc boost tee jjr turn flow intercooler jjr oil cooler apexi pod plugs gaped at .8 187rwkw @ 12 psi on stock turbo 215rwkw @ 14 psi on hypergear high flow
  10. cams l2s and greater will cover you for all the tracks mentioned. aasa will do winton only. by far, PI is the best track (website is the worse tho...). very very addictive. will give you the biggest....um...smile what you might want to try and do is: Winton Test and Tune (20 min runs, no group, free for all) - Friday (stay in wangaratta 20 mins north of the track), cost for the track day ~$120 Sandown (grouped based on times, 8-12 min runs) - Saturday (its pretty close to the city, so anywhere you like) cost for the track day ~ $200 PI (grouped based on times, 10-15 min runs) - Sunday (on the island or just off it in san remo) cost for the track day ~ $220 piarc.com.au run saturday and sunday sprints at PI wrx vic, alfa club vic and maserati vic run at SD quite often (at winton pretty often, PI not so much) there are other days etc, just goto the sandown and winton web sites, they list all the days. PI website is...well it only really lists the bike events..
  11. good to hear, back out on the track soon i hope
  12. this has started in a different direction hasn't it. good to know that i can find federal at o1g and erd. these tyres have been great for me.
  13. lol yeh, cone
  14. piece of wood under the k frame (the side jack points are shit, wood evens out the pressure), jack then stands. soak the dump nuts and bolts on wd40 before you work on em, else they will snap. (once everything is back on you will get heaps of smoke tho from the wd40 burning off) the bolts and nuts on my 33 are 13mm and 15 or 17 on the cat. one of the bolts is going to be a bitch to put on the new dump as its really close to the dump housing. i worked away on it with a ring spanner. imo, once you spend the money on the tools etc and waste time getting the car up and taking all the shiz off, $250 at a workshop is well worth it. oh also get an oem turbo to dump gasket
  15. i run a jjr silver kit (they have the blue kit as well). on track i havent seen the oil over 100 yet. adapter plate and fittings seal well, with some teflon tape. the kit has been in two difference chassis now as well. works well for the price, would recommend.
  16. on

  20. yeh wat a bugger. we saw a silver 32 in the side of the road on the way up. on your phone, just thought you were being 'responsible' and hand pulled over to use the phone...
  21. thanks to bec, ryan and the rest of the team for organizing another great deca. http://s636.photobucket.com/albums/uu82/ss...V%2009/?start=0
  22. well the busted turbo came off last night. working one went on after work today. new coolant...again, just after the new radiator. gave it a quick run, seems to boost. that is all that counts?? its making a whirling noise, so we will see if it lasts. nothing leaking. all fueled up and ready to go.
  23. lol ya. came into the left hander, the pfc hand controller cut out. was like WTF! so wasnt concentrating and go into the marbles i think. then went into the right hander and the back went on me. skip into 3:00
  24. did you bed them in? i found they last and perform much better if you go out hard for two laps when they are new (no track day before), come in. let em cool for as long a possible. then go out again. there is a HUGE difference. if you heat em up and dont let cool from new (no track day before), you get the shudder and blue around the rotor. i did this the first time only got 3 track days. the last set did 4 i think, had another day left. oh ive got a 33 with 324mm uas caliper adapters and standard calipers. did sd last saturday 30+ deg outside. no pad problems. oh and the uas air deflectors and no backing plate/ dust covers.
  25. ok, going to have to find a turbo now the brother is in.
