  1. Welcome, Still got the black 180sx from NS days?
  2. A few cans of brake clean and tubes of rtv be all good again 😁
  3. Can hiflow the turbo, mod the actuator rod to be able to adjust the tension and then run a 3 or 4 port solenoid. Rules change generally every 2-3 years.
  4. nice, did it drive on there?
  5. Idle control doesn't sound to be wired to ignition 12v. Find the it and wire to ign on 12v source or Link G4X & DBW no more idle problems
  6. Classic GT is going to be full of ls2 and sequential gearbox equipped Holden's over the next few events. Be cool to see more skylines/80 & 90s Japanese stuff at targa events.
  7. So far done v8 sprint last year (5x 20min), around 1000km Street driving and this sprint day. Most people I know who run them get at least a year of sprint racing and consistent to the end. Medium compound @Dose Pipe Sutututu will do. Got to get a new alternator as drops voltage in hot weather and when all the fans and lights are on.
  8. $2400 255/40/17 Every event I generally go to slicks would put me in open/formula classes. Would like to have a go one day with some. What slick are you going to go?
  9. Raced the car over the weekend, put the advan a050 on & got a wheel alignment friday. Did some logging on the way out to the track and was having weired issues with it hitting a MAP Limit randomly under load. Round 1 kept hitting a limiter at different loads and then lost all positve manifold pressure. Checked all the intercooler pipes and nothing wrong so pulled all the pipes and checked to see if BOV was stuck open but it was fine. Ended up pulling the external gate, stripping & inspecting it. Found nothing wrong so assembled it all started up and went for a quick drive and had boost again. To be safe I zeroed the wastegate table above 3500rpm and did the next session and no issues so random. Car was perfect after that and ended up going 47.45 Finished 1st in class and tied 4th outright was beaten by rcr skeleton, BMW M3 race car, 400kw WRX and 600hp LS ae86. The adavns are still the best tyre I have used and won't be going back to the nankang. Throttle blip was good for 2 corners and added another 5%. Need to do an oil change & bolt check will be sorted for another event. Should also look at a new clutch as was slipping towards the end of the day. Really want to put the fixed back seat in so I'm not sliding around......
  10. My motor (rb25) has been reliable for the 10years I've had it (Built by Red R Racing in early 2010 by previous owner)I replaced the head with a ported one and did new gasket & studs in 2015, 260-350kw, Lots of track days(drift, sprints & hill climbs), street driving and shenanigans. Run on 98 & e85, sensible timing map, maintained it correctly, Good quality & thought out oil breather setup and not bang them off limiter. Like anything have a sensible goal & maintain it correctly will last a long time. People with efame only show the dyno runs & the one time they go to powerskids/roll race they don't tell you it failed after one day of being thrashed and banged off limiter. if building a competitive race car/motor they are always pulled & inspected and parts replaced at service intervals as per an engine builders specs.
  11. Long time since no posts but if anyone is interested local club is holding a sprint event this weekend 12 June 2021 at the DriveIT facility https://www.facebook.com/MarqueSportsCarRegisterNQ
  12. Accelerator pedal, link ecu you can create virtual auxiliary outputs using a combination of auxiliary inputs/outputs. Got to be on the brake and clutch, be less than 10% AP for it to recognise a down shift condition. The only way I could come up with to recognise downshift with out a sequential box with gear position switch. Got an RPM limit to avoid over rev too. Probably not worth any time out on the track but have a the ecu and time to learn the features.
  13. Yeah, I still had to push it straight upright.
  14. Had a little bit of success with down shift blip. Ended up using clutch and brake switches with AP% as logics. Got it to do 10% TP blip while I get it sorted. Sounds cool coming down the gears from speed.
  15. I used my engine crane to assist with lifting, extended as far out, sling high as possible and was simple would have been easier if I had unpacked it first 🤦‍♂️
  16. Using a virtual aux with tp, clutch switch and rpm as logics.
  17. You'll be happy going to dbw, I'm planning on cutting my pedal to get it to sit nicer and trim the stopper on the back side. How long until it's back together and running?
  18. Stock 25 box, use ignition retard and throttle to reduce torque and Timer once clutch is disengaged. Testing the downshift blib tomorrow. For an older ecu the g4+ are great. Don't know if it will help lap times yet.
  19. Hopefully an easy fix at least you have the bike to enjoy while it's getting sorted
  20. In preparation for next weekends sprints bought an aeroflow dbw adapter and Intercooler clamp kit Was going to modify my pipe but wasn't going to work and look right so made a new one and it's a lot better than the original, a mate helped me out with advice on tig settings so welds are looking better. So with that done had to go test with a quick run up the highway. Before heading off I'd setup flat shift and boost by gear. It all works as intended and it's weird not lifting going up the gears. So will go through and setup the downshift blip too. Spent this afternoon going over the car with a bolt & fluid check, rebled brakes & clutch and made a camera mount for the rear pillar bar. Just need to get the advans fitted and put in fresh fuel.
  21. damn, was it a good skid?? So upgrade to a turbo 400 w/transbrake 😁
  22. Tao can sort you out for a bolt on turbo
  23. That's a cheap 86 Gets you out there driving and can get stuck in to the silvia strip and cage
  24. Sell CA while its a runner, do 5 stud and brakes
  25. get your chassis sorted with brakes, 5 stud and wheels done now. Do as much driving while new combo is being finished (complete engine, turbo, inlet, gearbox setup) and then get it in over the off season. At least being able to enjoy the car will be a good thing
