  1. Spotted Rosella as he flashed by, tooting, lucky I looked before flipping the bird... Good to have a chat mate, catch you soon.
  2. Maybe you should take off your headmasters cap champ; we're not 5 year olds. Can't wait for my next lesson in "Howz to turbos my Xena Keyboard"... Frankly I'm amazed it took you this long to find us; we've all been cluelessly bumbling around in the scary car modding wilderness without you... Thanks god you're here now.
  3. Lol, I was puzzled at first because the compression rod; sorry PIANO in the pic looked brand new. Realised after that it was just a googled image... Going OK , Jigs are made, just have to source some material. Work is slowing me down on that front ATM. Have you got time for my pianos this week, or next week?
  4. As others have said; this is a common fult with VQ's. It's also a pain that the plug sealing O rings are not replaceable like most of these style of rocker covers. As the spark plug replacement interval is 80,000km it has likely taken quite some time to fill up. Mine had a decent amount in the passengers side rear plug when I changed my plugs, but 13,000km later, mine is still dry; so maybe replace the plugs and monitor the leak before dropping decent dollars on a new rocker cover. I found VQ35 rocker covers cheaper than $250 on Ebay from a Nissan dealer in the States, so that might be worth checking. The reason I didn't buy them is because they are slightly different to the VQ25det rocker covers that I needed; I had expected they would all be identical.
  5. Global Warmer, where are you situated? Try these guys; http://www.strutregas.com.au/ Cost is roughly $80 per pair, from memory. They provide a 12 month warranty as well. I've used them 4 times with different cars, and they've all lasted the rest of the time I've owned the car. One was more than 6 years. Unless the strut is completely rooted (and they'll tell you) you'd be better off re-gassing your OEM struts than using second hand ones which will likely do the same thing. Cheers, Dale.
  6. Lol, cheers guys. I'll stop "helping' now... Did anyone else notice sav man's AXIS is LHD?
  7. Great pics! Your ARX sure gets around!
  8. Jay might be talking about OEM bushes? That's about what I saw when looking on ebay. I understand what it does, but Nissan made the arm, and they refer to the arm as a compression rod, and the bush as a compression rod bush. The bush manufacturers can call it a piano if they want, doesn't make it so.
  9. Most places call it a "Compression Rod Bush"
  10. Looks like a 20B turbo?
  11. Sounds like it might be time to force the pump on and check those bleed points. Jetwreck has done this before; I believe.
  12. That sounds a bit odd, the level might change a tiny bit when the pump starts; but not a huge amount. I've been wrong before, but It sounds like you might have air trapped, and the pump is filling the line, compressing the air and filling the line. When the pump stops, the pressurised pocket of air is expanding, pushing the fluid back out of the line; forcing the fluid back into the reservoir much like a hydraulic accumulator.
  13. Rotary?
  14. Rotary engine; Do it.
  15. Lol no heat; just differing opinions.
  16. I thought it was funny, but then you explained it. I still wanna eat a Peppered Tree frog; but only because it's already seasoned...
  17. Indicated 110km/h, GPS 99km/h.
  18. I reckon yours looks spot on actually. On OEM 17's, at 110km/h; my speedo was out by 11km/h, so that's 10%, monumental pain in the arse. My error is now around 3-4%.
  19. Lol, I've got a couple atm, and they seem to do is jump on my bare feet in the dark & scare the shite out of me. Send a couple down to my place; but only if they eat mozzies...
  20. Yep, running 245/45/18 on my 8" 350GT rims; straight sidewall. On a 9" 245 is perfect. But I'm not a hipster.
  21. I don't understand why anyone would want to run the exact same rolling diameter as the stock wheel and tyres. The speedo is out by miles and they look tiny in the wheelarches. The car will handle like a bucket of shit; because the already too short sidewalls are now being given yet another job to do. On a 1200kg Silvia tyre stretch might work (handling wise), on a 1700-1800kg wagon; not so sure. You're more likely to pull the tyre off the bead if you strike a bump; mid corner. Theo only reason I can see for stretching rubber; is if the rim seriously won't fit under the guard with appropriately sized rubber on it (insert ghey stanced website name here) . The above offset and width with an appropriate tyre actually will fit. But that's just one mans opinion.
  22. Whatchoo talkin 'bout Willis? Maybe throw on a couple of Nismo stickers; easy 100 horsepower each. 7 posts= Internetz expert.
  23. HKS; the new awesome?
  24. Spot on with the fishing line, a kettle full of hot water poured over the badge also works for heat . Trust me; every M35 that I've seen that has had the badges removed from factory paint has been a disaster. I honestly believe they attach the badges to uncured paint, or something in the adhesive etches the paint; I don't think you can get a satisfactory result without at least rubbing back and redoing the clear.
  25. What did they want to hit you for a PWR cooler? Even the repco "V8" auto trans cooler kit is only $110 and it uses a PWR core. Everyone who works at Repco reckons they work on race cars; especially when they can't find parts for your car. Ebay is your friend for a little cooler; trust me...
