  1. The key with making mistakes is learning from them. I have learned.
  2. Carbon bonnet would probably be heavier than the OEM alloy version. Same again on guards; maybe a kilo each, if that. Suspension is already alloy. Maybe someone should do it in carbon?
  3. But all you're going to end up with is a noisier, harsher, less pleasant car to drive. And it might accelerate a poofteenth quicker, or save a bees dick of fuel? If weight saving was your primary concern; why on earth did you buy a Stagea? If you do anything to your car that displeases me; I may have to kill you. Lol, jokes. But seriously; don't.
  4. Either use Matic J or Nulon Synthetic auto trans fluid. Only takes a litre or so from memory Make sure you crack the filler plug BEFORE you open the drain plug. Nothing worse than discovering that you cannot fill your now empty gearbox/transfer/diff.
  5. I'm not sure it's an airflow thing that's killing AFM's; mine pegged it a few weeks ago, and all I did was change lanes and give a little accelerator (barely 40%) and it just rolled to a stop. Mine has never hit airflow cut. I did get yelled at by a guy in an XF falcon though; so that was fun. For the $110 delivered that a new one cost, after 120,00km; I think it did ok. The only real issue was having to wait for it to arrive; I should've bought 2 then the next person could've had one sooner.
  6. The GK Tech is awesome. The fan is a beautiful piece of gear. I'm using one on my car.
  7. Ahhh, ok; I think it will be fine.
  8. Yep. No electric seats or sunroof in mine either.
  9. Did you even read my post?
  10. I think that's what I'm running in mine; is it LSD compatible?
  11. Nope, RX is awd, as is the RS. Mine weighed in at 1670kg on the weighbridge at my work. Considering a stock VE sedan is 1700kg, and even a fully loaded FPV ute is over 1800kg; I don't think there's much to worry about. I know what I'd rather be driving in an accident. Or any other time for that matter...
  12. Good to hear, take care of it now!
  13. Get on it & report back with your solution. Good luck.
  14. I'd walk away from $1000 to buy Chris's car. You would have to spend at least another $10,000-$15,000 (I would bet that would be the tip of the iceberg) to have the work done in the manner it has been done to his car.
  15. Run a cooling system flush though it and start from scratch; also maybe look at getting a "TK" (this detects exhaust gas from a blown head gasket in the water) test done on the cooling system. This will save pulling a motor down unnecessarily.
  16. Please don't take my question as any kind of criticism, that's a damn impressive result regardless. Trial & error is all part of the process, that's a kick arse start on a pretty unforgiving material.
  17. That fuel mileage is TERRIFYING! At least test the O2 to eliminate it.
  18. Late last week spotted a pearl white C34 in the carpark at my work! Astrazeneca North Ryde; WHO ARE YOU?
  19. Very impressive! Do you think filling & sanding/smoothing the plug/mould to a higher standard would have produced a better surface finish on the parcel shelf?
  20. Right place right time; I like it. Got to be happy with that.
  21. Someone probably should have told you this process will require a significant amount of patience on your part...
  22. Head over to the Hypergear turbo thread in the forced induction section; Stao is pulling some pretty impressive numbers with bolt on highflows. His current one ran 350kw (I think) admittedly E85 on a fabricated manifold, but it looks like a stock r33 turbo.
  23. I use around 5.4lt in mine when I do oil & filter. I don't think 5 litres is quite enough. The dipstick reading is best taken first thing in the morning after being stopped overnight on a flat surface.
  24. Well no one wants to wake up stiff in the back.
