From what Ive read, its not uncommon and not too hard to convert your R34 to a push type clutch like the R33. Call up K B Clutch Engineering. Speak with him, ask him about the carbotic button clutch and see how much he can do it for a pull type system. There are clutches for R33's that cost in excess of 1k, even 2k. It seems everyone buys these full monty clutches which cost >1k. What for? They sound like they are heavy on the pedal and really a waste of money. This guy who done my clutch knows his stuff, doesn't try to rip you off by telling you the crap people say oh you drive this, oh you drive that, oh its a race car, oh its got this. All this BS to make it sound more expensive than it should be. You go to any performance shop and ask them to make you an intake pipe, $250+. Go to an exhaust shop, $80. Go to a welder, $50.

How the f**k did it manage that? I had something slightly better than stock(the exedy clutch OE replacement) let go at stock with tune etc at about 180rwkw. Now Ive got a 5 puk carbotic button clutch, holds all my power fine, grabs even on the dump. $385 for the clutch, pedal isn't too stiff either.

Spotted a Stagea behind me what looked to be in baby blue colour. Very stock looking. Nice and clean. If you're on here, I was the white R33 infront of you.

Looks like my old R33 colour sonic silver. Best skyline colour ever(bar the sexy gtr paints). I think an S15 driver will be more interested in those wheels than a skyline driver.

What an embarrassing law system. What if the cop just went down to the tracks and waited outside for all the cars that come out on the road and not trailers, write and report their plates. I recall reading that even neighbours can snitch out loud cars to the police and the same shit happens. What if someone just snitched out every single import car they saw on the road. That is like accusing EVERYONE in this country of murder until they prove them selves innocent, pay for a lawyer, pay for court fees, waste their own time and money. Its a crock of dick shit.

Some people here have managed close to 240rwkw from standard injectors, its pushing it but it can be done. For about $150 - $200 you can get the standard ones high flowed to 600 - 800cc. Ahh I almost forgot the clutch. Generally anything above 180rwkw will send this thing smoking. Factor in another $450 parts for the clutch.
-
Hypergear highflow which can be run with all your standard parts(injectors, coils(depending), afm) but as always the ECU will need to be changed and if you are doing an ECU, I'd also do the AFM. Cheapest way to possibly push about 220rwkw.

My car isn't even in this thread yet, fml. -
Design a longer unit with longer ports which you can face towards the ground, but yeah you probably don't want raw exhaust flowing in your engine bay haha. This thing gives the atmo sound some people like so I guess its stealthy plus noisy, even though I do get a pssh from my stock BOV with a pod.
-
You have set, which is your boost, then you have gain(set gain?) which controls boost falloff. Then you have start boost which is your desired boost -1psi, your warning which is your boost limit, +1psi of target boost(maybe even 2 - 3psi) then you have warning which is how much boost you would like to drop usually about 5 - 10% lower than your set. I had my boost controller, profec b spec 2, setup by CRD and they suggested the warning should be set to 0% all the time. It was perfect on my car. Anything more gave me the symptom I described above(on off)
-
This is for people who want an aftermarket BOV which vents to atmosphere, running a MAP setup, to hide this thing somewhere in the front bar so that it can't be seen and still have the stock BOV in place, plumbed in place but doing nothing. Its not for many, but the idea is interesting. They should build a wastegate which works the same way in the exhaust. Then again, anything attached to the exhaust always looks sus.
-
I done something similar on my brothers car. I like the above idea with the fibreglass, looks more permanent and less DIY. Tao, I thought in that test you were running the stock air box with no filter inside? I still think the best thing is a shielded pod with similar idea, cold air intake.
-
Start from scratch. Its a pain in the arse to get right too. You need alot of road, alot of patience and alot of trial and error. Its a % over the current actuator setup and as said above, different tensions on different actuators will mean different things when you open your boost controller to 50%. Ive got mine on 0% low boost(14psi) and I think about 40 or 50% high boost for 20psi. Then you got gain, to make sure your boost is nice and consistent. You've also got your warning crap. Set this shit up wrong and you will be ON AND OFF BOOST, you can feel it and hear it loosing then building boost then hitting the limiter, losing boost and then building it up again.
-
I think this is true only with the standard BOV which is open all the time off boost. Problem is you will have unmetered air being sucked into the engine or lost which will both cause a car with an AFM to run like dick.
-
Both are pointless and shit ideas. I tried the half metal half stock(the bigger end). According to Tao, this is a loss of 65rwkw from back to back tests he done. I made 244rwkw. Add 60rwkw you get 304rwkw from the SS2. Ive got it sorted now, full 3" metal just need a retune.
-
I was set out to make my own and after figuring it out its not too hard. To use all your stock oil breather and BOV return, just get a 3" metal intake pipe with 90degree bend, stick it in the front of the turbo and cut the breather and return where they touch the pipe. The pieces you cut off form the nipples to attach your shit back onto. Any workshop will charge little to nothing to weld these on(if you know someone with the welder). Don't bother trying to make any fancy bends to fit shit. Trust me a 3" 90degree pipe fits the z32 and apexi filter snuggly.

Car Enthusiasts Read This

You've got a government of old people who hate noise, hate the smell of fuel, oil, rubber and hate to see the next generation enjoying cars. We have no chance. That video up there made me feel tingly, I'm going to go outside and give my car a hug. -
Wtf, it opens on vacuum? Won't that cause unfiltered air to get into the engine? The fact that it opens on idle isn't a problem in a maf setup, you can run your maf in your intake pipe and have this infront of that. The main issue I would be concerned about is shit getting in there. Off boost is fine as air will be gushing out and it will snap shut as soon as its vented, but opening on idle? Edit: I'm confused as to how this works. Vacuum line goes in the back. When there is alot of vacuum the unit pulls it self back to release boost. When it is on boost, the vacuum line feeds the pressure to the back of the ring valve thing to keep it shut. Won't the springs keep it shut while you are just cruising around? If it didn't cost so much, I would buy one to tinker with and have a fiddle with to see how it works. Its pretty stealthy. You can fit it in line in your cooler piping anywhere in your front bar.

That's a crock of BS. As if advertising is worthy of an exemption, as if seeing a tool in an M3 is going to sell you an M3.

So the whole body acts like a vent?

Terrible Start Up Idle Rocking
SargeRX8 replied to ClutchBurndout-:('s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Those misses you say you get when warm are not misses, they are lean pops. They don't happen on idle due to the richness that the car runs to warm the engine up. If you drive your car when its in its cold state and switch it off soon after, the unburnt fuel can quickly foul old plugs. Ive had mornings where my car will start and misfire its face off. Change the plugs and bam its back to normal. My car was running rich all over the place so after I fixed that it didn't happen. -
Its gay, we can't even write ideas because of people who would troll this forum to see what people could and would do to circumvent their detection methods. I don't understand the concept of how some cars can run 96db and others at 90. My car idles quietly so I thought ill do a free rev to 5100rpm. There is no way in f**king hell ill pass. I can still hear the engine over the exhaust though.
-
Yeah it might not even start, if it does you will be rich as a rose bay Jew.
-
More often than not, they are mechanics. My mate works at a car wash and he is going to apply for a work exception because they have to drive around any of the cars that come through. Most people you see who are just cruising around driving a turbo/v8 are doing it illegally. Do you know what I hate though about that article about that guy getting done with the M3. One paragraph in the daily telegraph said something about him getting into shit for hooning. I was thinking oh maybe he done a burnout. No, he revved his car at a pedestrian crossing. How the f**k is revving your engine hooning? HOW THE f**k!

Just spotted a white skyline with what looked to be a skylinesaustralia website link on the front windshield with a twin tip exhaust. Same car as mine! White R33 GTST Series 2.
