  1. That section is under the unregistered vehicles section, meaning you also need a permit. If the car is un-rego'd then ignore the rest of what im typing. I cannot see any reference to towing a registered vehicle in that manner, so it might be a grey area it would seem. I'd suggest calling VicRoads and ask them to point you in the correct direction/area of their website where you can read it if you want to be 100% certain. OR Just do it anyway. Screen dump the VicRoads page, and say "well it's legal with a permit for un-rego, so given i have rego i do not need a permit" - should work. I think as long as you are resonable and have the hazards on, use a rope, the car being towed has operational tail-lights etc they won't give you too much grief over it especially if you are not going very far.
  2. Oh missed the edit. at work anyway, cant watch it anyway It could be electro interference or something dude? I noticed if i have my soundcard too close to the GPU it would sometimes "buzz", moved it another slot down and was fine.
  3. Ye probably not thinking PC Gamer/Music listening as opposed to proper amplified stereo. I've got a big mumma Marantz amp for that home stereo duties, the card simply processes the sound in that instance and does no driving. But i can certainly tell you the difference was night & day when i put the soundcard in initially as opposed to using onboard. When i was doing reading people did say you "dont need one", but there are "benefits to be gained" by having one. So ye, probably no point for yours by the sound of it
  4. Depends on the resistance of the headphones themselves. The Senn 555s (595, 558, 598) and higher all benefit greatly from having an amp'd socket powering them and sound 100x better when plugged in. Perhaps have a bit of a google and see if it'll offer any benefit. If they do then I'd certainly reccommend it as i do watch a few movies through headphones (given i cannot run my huge stereo @ 4am in an apartment lol), so it's a setup i get to use/appreciate pretty often.
  5. A mate uses them on his S14 track car, 300-350rwkw or so - said they take a little more pressure hot than the O50 to perform well, reckons they are as good if not faster than the O50. Then factor in the money side of it & they are good value when you considering the price of the others is almost double in some cases. You'd certainly think you could get .5 of a sec off going to them from R888s Down here it's hit & miss if they will let you out with them in the wet, no idea what it'll be like for you guys up there as it seems to vary a bit between states/organisers. Be fairly certain if it was wet and at a CAMS event, no chance haha.
  6. How do you work that out from the Apr 13th update (most recent)... The notice doesn't say anything conclusive either way really.
  7. Do it properly and buy a set of injectors and use the factory regulator (its fine for over 350rwkw). Obviously depends on the hi-flow as to how viable a FPR is (without injectors). 1. If it'll only make 220rwkw then ok fair enough 2. If the hi-flow will make 250rwkw+, then dont waste time and get a set of injectors
  8. Hey all. Just thought i'd update on my soundcard.... Auzentech Forte 7.1 It has been an awesome soundcard, despite the hatred for Creative labs drivers i've remarkably had no issues with them and the setup has perform flawlessly even after updates etc. The UI was also good with their software. However my card... she died last night captain... It basically makes a epically loud helicopter noise through the headphones (so loud it'll hurt ears). Mine was a Rev 1.2 card (with extra heatsinks etc) so it was the good board. The Rev 1.0 ones were known to fail quite quickly after doing some snooping around the net and forums. The issue after doing some reading sounds like the interchangeable onboard OAMP failing. So i think it can be repaired as a mate of mine is good with a soldering iron and it's a simple 8 pin replacement job with an OAMP and a adaptor slot. So I'll post up either way how it goes as the OAMP i wanna use will be an upgrade over factory so should improve the card (for a $25 part, seems worth the effort). Honestly for the money i reckon the sound card was some of the best PC money I've spent as combined with the Sennheiser 555 headphones, the sound was absolutely mint. Mine has lasted 4 years so not "too" bad however it really shouldn't have died realistically. In the mean time i went and lashed out on a ASUS Xonar STX, will give it a whirl over the weekend and report back as if i fix the Auzentech card, it'll go into my media PC
  9. About the same size really, not an upgrade if thats what you are thinking... and its worth maybe $150

  11. no idea, i've not tried. I dont think its 100% working atm either.
  12. Essendon DFO, one way in, one way out.
  13. 1. What is the budget? 2. How modified is the actual car? 3. How much power do you want? 4. What is the use of the car? Street/Drag/Circuit? Once the above 4 questions are answered, then people will be able to give you answers... However I reckon it's probably something already covered... Oh and FYI 550cc Sards will not direct fit into the RB25DET NEO motor, so they are a waste if you purchased them before doing your homework
  14. Pretty sure there was a video as well with it in the engine room It's the only reason i remember it clearly (do you have a link to the graph of incar runs?)
  15. That was the engine dyno results, no airbox/intake piping, drivetrain etc. Would be back under 500rwkw you'd think once in the car. Hard to say as no results got posted after that far as i know (be awesome if they were handy to see once incar).
  16. I've done similar @ MSY Basically no questions asked swap over of a PSU. They plugged it in, saw it didnt work on their test bed - 10mins i was in/out
  17. If i get out of work before 7am Sat (and i can get sleep) i'll come down for a look-see. Spewing I'm working
  18. Oh and you should really be asking your engine builder what head work, as they will be creating and designing the setup. What have they said thus far?
  19. Do you know you do not need 500rwkw to run a 9? And are you just dead set on the power goal/dyno number rather than the ET? (or vice versa/which is more important)
  20. So we are just talking dyno pony's here then essentially. Not sure the OP wants a dyno pony, more so a car that is useable and will run 9s. I think that needs OP clarification around that is needed Yet you are the one saying people who've done back to back comparisons - and that can actually speak from experience - don't know what they are talking about. Right...
  21. You'd certainly hope so otherwise lot of cost and effort to under deliver on your claim.
  22. Same, very unfortunate. I was talking to him not even 24hrs earlier working out when we were gonna sit down for a beer/bbq with his fam, and then this comes out of nowhere (as it does i guess). All very just really unfair for a bloke of his nature. Dude has had a bad run with the bike accident and now this Nothing more than what Shell posted, one would think quite a long recovery time for him after something this major taking place.
  23. How much power roughly are you getting out of it? Does it fall over at a certain RPM?
  24. Something is up with Avatars at the moment, mine has disappeared and I've even touched it. Gotta be underpants gnomes...
