Big week... I'm totally exhausted - 8 Hot Laps in 2 hipo R35 GTRs (Mercury R35/Mark's & Willall R35/Seb's). Both workshops are sponsors as well which is awesome. - NPC Clutches chucking in the ring - 2 x $500 vouchers for prizes!!! - Merch Pack being put together and samples/pics ready in approx 8 working days. - $500 fuel voucher is now a $550 one - S'n'S space will allow around 250 cars, maybe more. Some even bigger announcements to come over the next few days with regards to the DVD etc. Hopefully entry will be up within the next week as well. Only bummer - burnout comp is a no-go after meeting with the council this week didnt approve it Otherwise though, shaping up to be quite the event!

Also a welcome to Willall Racing who built Seb's (SlipR35) R35 GTR. Seb has been awesome enough to offer hot laps for 4 lucky raffle winners on the day... She ain't short of power, or a little bit of carbon http://www.willallracing.com There is also some more info on the car here: http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011/07/07/car-spotlight-gt-gt-willall-racing-s-carbon-clad-r35-gt-r Also some video of this fine car in action on Seb's YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/SlipR35

Awkw Vs Rwkw Vs Flywheel/engine Kw
R31Nismoid replied to Aussie_Delivered_R32_GTR's topic in New South Wales
EVO/STi are full time AWD, so it's affected much between all and rear wheels. A GTR isn't as ATTESSA works differently, it also does not send as much to the front. Most GTR's will have pretty close awkw & rwkw figures, often they can be the same. Variance either way generally minimal unless you have rebuilt transfer cases that are a bit tighter. In that instance it tends to soak a bit more as it locks up more. -

Don't happen to have a sensor bung at all you could measure the pressure with in the exhaust manifold? That would give you the answer very quickly. Also done runs without the exhaust on the car? (dump only etc?) -

Afms How Many Times Do They Need Cleaning?
R31Nismoid replied to TommyR34's topic in General Maintenance
if you have varying AFM voltage, after you cleaned it. It's just a simple case of the AFM is fked. Pretty common problem what you describe, and no amount of cleaning it will fix it. -

Classics Screwed At Nationals
R31Nismoid replied to Ghostrider's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
So after it was clearly outlined to you Dennis - what happened? You didn't comprehend it? Understand it? The reason is plain as day why other older models are not represented as well this time. Just because you do not agree, is your own problem. Grow up and complain to someone down @ the RSL tomorrow about it if you feel the need. There is no mention on the SAU Forums, SAU Nats website or SAU Nats Facebook that the Group A cars are coming. Help if you actually argued with some facts. What we do have however is a number cars fresh from WTAC coming along. They are offering Hot Laps for passengers on the day. Without people like Mark Hansen/Trent Whyte & Seb Lip who are generous enough to bring such cars along, this wouldn't be possible. Good thing you aren't helping then! With your constantly poor attitude, nothing would ever happen. Sign up is 100% automated so entires are collated and sorted instantly. Let us worry about that though, we know how it works after all. End of the day if you don't like it. Don't come. I knew full well you'd come running with both keyboards swinging around like nun-chucks & starting some waffle thread about yet another 'grievance', after all you are a serial sook. I totally agree. I'd love to have more classes as well. However as outlined, sponsors simply have not come on-board, concessions get made. There were a lot of "promises" from businesses early on, yet not even 50% have come through. But props to the businesses that have & recognise what an awesome event to get behind. Iit's not "my" event at all. SAU-Vic is organising the event. 6 Committee members have been putting in massive work to make this happen everything from the Track day, Website & DVD... To things like Insurance, Security and all the "paperwork" that comes with organising something on a large scale. The other State Clubs have also put in considerable effort behind the scenes as well -

Guess you'd hope it would be better than a HKS DLi... Given its almost 3x the price! -
If GTR injectors can support 300rwkw or there abouts, then the answer is yes. There are plenty of DIY/Guides on this forum about GTR injectors into the RB20

Definitive Guide To Building 300-330awkw Gt-r
R31Nismoid replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Realistically it's probably closer to 3500rpm than 4000rpm given it's not always loaded in 4th - but still both turbo choices offer a good spread of power. This is on PULP as well. E85 will improve it a little from results seen thus far. -
Yeah just get some lines made up @ Enzed, I've done that in the past myself.

Definitive Guide To Building 300-330awkw Gt-r
R31Nismoid replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
^ you know there is a difference. You've been in my car & saw it come on like a cut cat around 3500rpm in 2nd. Will take you for a belt next time I drive up, or you come down. You'll see what i mean about in/out of gear stuff. It's just what one person calls big vs another. That extra half second delay in between gears from the larger -5s is the most noticeable between the two set-ups and kinda gives me the shits a little. The RPM band you can just adjust driving style and pick a lower gear etc. He is in NSW, i checked - otherwise I'd have offered myself lol No they start ramping up onto boost hard @ 3300rpm. Forget when it hit 24psi, I posted the graph(s) a while ago if it's a major concern. Noticeably sooner than -5s either way. -5s dont do much until 4000rpm but hold till 8000, my limit is set to 8300 and i hit it regularly so they still keep pulling. Its pretty much the same power band to be honest. Its just a shift of 700rpm to the left really. I never said anything about torque though... That progressively drops off, same as the -5s do. Torque doesn't hold till redline. -
Definitive Guide To Building 300-330awkw Gt-r
R31Nismoid replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you want response then the -9s are the choice, no doubt, for a 2.6ltr. I had them on my GTR. Swapped em out for -5s and the car is noticeably slower below 150km/h, very noticeable delay in between gears. Which is the stuff you don't see on a dyno. Above 150km/h-200km/h+ though obviously its a different ball game. So if you want response as in - under 150km/h performance - then -9s are the choice. Sard 700s and Nismo AFMs will suit perfectly. Mine made 24psi early and then fell away to around 18psi in the top end, making 340rwkw @ 7000rpm (around 19-20psi), after that it drops off. They come on @ 3300rpm nicely however so plenty of range to choose from. GT-SS & Garrett -9s are identical. The HKS items are a waste of money... Here is something I prepared earlier http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/254450-79s-or-5s-garretts/page__st__440 -

Hope you have a new clutch Steve -
depends on condition, is what Steve was getting at. Im running 360-380rwkw, stock coils. But mine are in perfect working order. There is no promises yours will be the same. As for safe boost - 12-13psi max. Same as a GTS-t really. It's just not worth the risk of killing a motor.

Track Battle Australian Time Attack Series
R31Nismoid replied to GTR32G's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
lol my diff is all run in now, nice and grippy. There will be about 8-10 people from SAU-Vic going, talking to a heap tonight @ our General Meeting, they were just waiting for the issue of the Sat Sandown Round... Now they know it's OK they are coming. I think Snowy & Chris are coming too Should be a good event spew bucket! -
2.5k will get you plenty of decent stuff outta the US at the moment. There are plenty of Rod/Piston Combo's to be had from ebay retailers. Just make sure they have an actual website/business as well, not just the 'backyarder' style ebay seller. Although if you cracked/melted a piston mate, that wasn't a fault of the mechanicals...
