Ye sleep is the massive factor for me. The past 3 months I've been making a massive effort to get 7-8hrs a night as opposed to 4-5hrs and then sleeping for 14-15hrs on a Sat. The first month was fken impossible but I'm really coming good now and actually jumping outta bed @ 6:30-7am as opposed to not functioning at all until 10am. Also been taking it very easy on the booze this year. Only had i think 4-5 big nights all year and quite a few I've chosen to drive which totally removes temptation

Who's Running A Kaaz?
R31Nismoid replied to Birds's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
$1500+ once you get stung with tax -
RIPS make them, and they are in NZ... But the key is - you are buying a PROPER oil/air separator from them too (which is really what you want). Not what is effectively a polished tin, that does nothing more than collect oil. Hence there is a price difference. If you just want a tin, just buy a greddy one off ebay or something.

Ok so starting a “build log”. New section, I might as well be the first. Years ago I was fit as a fiddle. Top 40 in my year level (200) for anything we ever did be that beep test, long/short distance and stuff. Then beer, bars & pussy took over as a priority when I was about 20. After that along came shift work, 12hr days/60-80hr weeks and terrible sleep patters. What felt like overnight, was 4 years later and now I’ve got no fitness, strength or size and generally just a lazy turd. After my first session in the gym it was a painful wakeup as I was significantly stronger when I was 17 than I am now, and I was a good 8-10kgs lighter. So with that… Time to turn this around.

If anyone has some pointers/feedback about formatting – how to help people plan/layout threads etc then post it up and I can just edit this first post with some ‘guidelines/formatting’ etc Get posting

Who's Running A Kaaz?

Nismo was $1600+? Did you know Link have specials on ATM as they are getting rid of all their Nismo stock? I got a Nismo front diff for my GTR for the same price it was delivered ex-japan It shouldn't be "too" clunky though. Perhaps a minor adjustment to the backlash now it's got a few KM's on it. Few people have had that issue in the past. -
Clutch Advice... R33 Gtr
R31Nismoid replied to dato$2nv's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Street driven = Nismo Coppermix. Hands down the best clutch I've ever used. You'd think it was factory that's how light it is. My OS Racing twin, nasty nasty piece of work. Thing will never die though, but it's harsh to drive and you really have to give it a lot of RPM to get off the line. -
Rags To Riches R33
R31Nismoid replied to hixi126's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Well thats a 10k adventure. (and you'll be looking at a lot worse than 3500rpm on the street) You'd be better off getting a better turbo for the moment, and if the motor fails then upgrade it. Could be years before it dies as 280rwkw seems to last quite a good many years. Then just swap out turbos later during a full rebuild etc you'd be lucky to spend an extra $1000 which won't even be an 10% of your overall rebuild price. Also you probably don't need a surge tank. Ensure you get the aircraft grade lines for it otherwise you'll just have a car that stinks of fuel. Or mount the surge externally -
Whats An R33 Gtr Box Worth?
R31Nismoid replied to Griffin's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
600-800 seems the average price atm. -

Do you drive the race car around town? A larger core will increase lag. Wether it's noticeable or not, depends. If the VLt is auto/stall then it wouldn't be as much of a problem either. Either way you won't lose HP.

I've used a high pressure host before a few times, never had a problem. Just don't spray @ ignitor/coil packs, and the airbox/pod/AFM area. Spray something to "presoak" like some warm soapy water, then have at it. Basically you want to 'shoot' like if using a gun/pistol - spraying the water downwards so it doesn't spray/fly everywhere. As others have said - do NOT just go gung-ho and spray anything and everything. Just take your time and it can be done Don't use the car was pressure hoses though, the water there is generally dirty. I've always done it with a Karcher @ home or similar and taken my time. Once you've done that and gotten the bulk off, then just use a 'mit' or something with soapy water to get in and around everything and remove built up grime.

If the logo is produced in a EPS/Vector format, you won't have problems with scaling bigger or smaller if the design is done properly. A good graphic designer will already know that of course

Rags To Riches R33
R31Nismoid replied to hixi126's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
The turbo you have is capable of 350rwkw+ However the motor certainly isn't so a nice safe limit would be 280rwkw. Only issue then is the GT35 is ridiculously laggy for that power. A smaller turbo would come on 400-800rpm sooner (depending on choice) and still make you a nice safe 280rwkw You won't need a fuel reg either if you wanna save some cash. Gearbox should be perfectly fine however. Good luck with it -
LOL should i post the graph overlay of the mighty RB20 vs my RB26?

Garrett Medium Frame Gtx Turbos

I'm merging them. Makes it far easier to follow/read, dw about it. -
Ye but you can't just go and enforce one section of the rule and blatantly ignore the other. Thats just silly behaviour. Perhaps they have just not read the regs lately or perhaps got some wording wrong as its not a logically thought out statement. I'd be placing a fair bet that 99% of people using a harness, cannot reach their extingisher when the harness is tight.

An Error Occured
R31Nismoid replied to ssxRicho's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
Ye it's becoming more common Christian. I got it 2 days ago from home posting in the FI section. Never had an issue previously. Something is wrong around the place with permissions. There was a thread below this one about the WA section. Recreating the thread fixed the problem, but that really isn't a good solution for each instance this occurs if its getting worse. -
I do For 4 years, no virus scanner. Just used peerblock & used private trackers It's only the people that don't want to spend a little bit of time educating themselves that end up getting smashed by a virus. Or unless you are a chick, in which case its pretty much a given. Hence I never let anyone touch my PC that has no idea.

The XR6 turbos are failing because of the inline filter though aren't they? Which is then starving the turbo of oil. This is only happening on a specific model too...
