  1. What restrictors are you running in the head feed?
  2. varex is a grey area, he said in his eyes, theres no difference in me having a quiet exhaust on and going home and swapping to a huge loud one. Only the time factor. Also not having the controller kept in the car is a good idea. And the idea of an engineers certificate is to override affected ADR's I believe.
  3. I have a straight through 3 inch, with highflow cat, and a varex, open is 102 ish db, shut 77. It is engineered. Laws in sa may be different to nsw though. Keep in mind you cant use alot of power with it shut or bad shit will happen. In my drive by tests i was 10 db lower than a hilux that drove past before me.
  4. I had an auto in mine, 260rwkw it was slipping bad, did 2000 kms on street and it went to auto heaven. I loved the auto but I do like the manual heaps more. The jatco arent a strong box iv been told and cost a lot to get built up. I was going to do a c4 auto fully manualised with transbrake and 4k stally but was going to cost 5k plus stally at another 1k.
  5. If your buying a tomei pump, decide one your oil type, power, and get the pressure set. I have mine at 65, which is more like 75 psi, but im running redline 15w/50 and running at 340kw for example. Heavy oils become abrasive under too much pressure.
  6. I was always under the impression that the water, (ignoring meth) expands to steam around 1700 times its volume, whereas fuel would be nothing close to that. Therefore the meth would cool the charge as previous, the petrol would be burnt, as would methanol, then the water would do its huge expansion, and as it would do so slowly compared to petrol, would raise octane as such therefore being able to add timing, as well as helping by its own expansion, and get more power. More so than as to act as a physical compression increase anyway. Might be wrong, might also be already discussed/understood??
  7. Maybe slightly, but I believe most are slanted to fit and along with the slanted radiator in some, particularly 300zx's and the like. Could be wrong
  8. If your sure its fueling id be looking at 02 sensor as well as new plugs and clean afm?? Sounds odd
  9. On this topic, is there anywhere to but new clutch and fan for rb25? nissan want 750 for it and im not spending that much ill go second hand first, my plastic fan has cracks and the clutch holds the fan on permanently and certainly makes some noise at 8000 revs :-/
  10. I beg to differ, it dont matter if your running an n70z or a ride on mower battery if your fan draws 30 amps your alternator needs to make 30 amps, it does however stop the alternator spiking as such.. Unless thats what you meant?
  11. 130 is getting pretty much over for oil, a full ester blend synthetic even begins degrading at about 100-110 and by 130 its a bad as stone cold oil. Well thats what i believe, I may be wrong
  12. Doesnt say what its made of nor does it state the clearance. For 25 bucks more get a known one from a local supplier. It may be quality but who will risk it and try one?
  13. Here is my sheet for my previous post I cant edit it onto it? The dip in the top end is from my exhaust, all 3 inch but wastegate is plumbed and I have a varex, which is a but undersize... afrs deliberately left very low at very top...
  14. Did the engine definately suck water? Probably busted rings or bent rods possibly blown head gasket.. get a leakdown and compression test done. Its possible to have twisted your crank too if its hydraulic locked with water. unfortunately the shit doesnt compress. the oil sounds a bit odd. Blowing smoke?
  15. depends if they are arp or stock? going on the head size of 17mm ill say stock... Arp are different I believe
  16. I ran a rear head drain, and a front vent, rhs top of sump to rhs front of cam covers, and custom baffles in covers... maybe add another vent? My design hasnt been track proven, yet
  17. Could make sense, if its running out of a busted reg, it'll run into the plenum, and therefor into the cylinders...
  18. I dont totally squeeze mine out, more so like i'd do on my bike, but if you squeeze it out real well it'll be fine id say clean your afm's as a part of your service sched..
  19. true. I have a map ecu and therefore no afm i run a very very large unifilter cylinder pod filter thing and I oil it, sucks a little bit in but nothing to worry about unless you have afm's.
  20. Sorry to liven an old post, but is there any failure stories on this regarding overloading the feed wiring or anything? taken that the feed line is designed to run either high or low, separately? or is there a separate feed for high and low? cheers

And the best bit, all legal! everything is engineered. Iv set it up for track days, hilclimb and occasional drag day. All for fun. I will post a graph when i get to scanner :-) Can anyone with and input/info pm me please
  22. Doesnt matter, maybe in vic its different but. In NSW, my engineer said its tested shut, driven shut, there is nothing they can say. Even if they know its a varex. He said there is no difference in me testing it with that or having a quiet pipe then swapping it at home. Except how fast it can be done. He instructed me when harassed about it to take it to the top as he told others who succeeded. Thats NSW laws though they smash you's alot harder there.
  23. open the size of you dump will increase noise :-)
  24. Cant. As long as they dont hear it they have nothing to stand on. Especially when the controller cant be found :-) Also should add i also have a cat. a highflow shit one that probably does less than nothing.
