hi, im finding it hard to get someone to build my rb30det. Alot of mechanics i have heard good things about are to busy and have up to a six month wait!!! so could anyone recommend anyone who i could get to build this motor?

I already have the rb25 head, 30 bottom end, forged pistons, rings, revs h beam rods, turbo and some other little things, i want it to be capable of producing over 500hp, so i need some who really knows what they are doing, so any sugestions would be much appreciated.

thanks

you are a bad man!!!

BTW, before i forget just wanted to let you know there is an Oran Park GP track day on 5th of March. It will be awesome, small numbers, lots of track time and pro instructors too if wanted. if you want to come along just pm me.

Do you want the engine built and you (or someone else) fits it to the car?

Or do you want it built and fitted?

If you just want a machine shop to build the engine I may be able to help, PM me for details.

:D cheers :)

MRC @ castle hill, used to work at UAS to

Had a VL with somthing like 430HP @ the wheels, rb30 with 25 head.

Also rebuild my RB30DET putting out 330HP @ the wheels with a shitty auto box.

Ah, I know Mark - nice guy and great mechanic

If the recommendation came from someone like Mark then go for it :D

Yes, great mech.

Like i said, got him to rebuild by RB30det when it blew, it was due for it. Was running 17PSI with stock internals apart from a cam with 235K's on the clock. one day while driving my gear box f#cked up and the car just reved out as the rev cut was not set on the microtech. Then came the smoke, HAHA.

Got it rebuilt with tomei head gasket, arias pistons etc...

mark now owns a couple of XR6's, one turbo putting out arround 3XXkw @RW

Anyho....

BLITZ- a guy who was a mechanic for rick shaw, he seems to know what he is talking about

plus ive heard of people making big reliable power and still using standard rods, and you would think REV would be better then stock rods!

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
