gday guy i was just after some info on building a 350-400awkw gtr. this is a long tearmish kinda goal to acheive

keeping it at the 2.6L...many a slight bore, but not stroking it out. also using low mounted twins that are direct bolt on if possible. is this able to be acheived.

at the moment the car if off the road and is about to receive a rebuild so im hoping the parts that will be able handle that kinda power figure.

have the computer ready to go in. then there will b some money spent on other things such as new suspension set up etc. a lil maintanence to the car...that kinda stuff

is this able to be acheived??

cheers

All you need is alot of money that you'll never see again >_<

Engine will need complete rebuild if you want any sort of longevity.. forged pistons/rods, everything in the head. Fuel supply will need to be substantial, as support systems, ECU, boost controller, intake, exhaust etc etc etc $$$

Don't forget suspension, wheels/tyres and brakes!

basically you will need a built motor with cams, a decent fuel system (pump, injectors etc), ECU, upgraded AFMs, HKS 2530s and all the support gear, like oil cooler, sump baffles and oil system mods, clutch upgrade, possibly box upgrade (depending on how you drive it), little things like EBC, new cooler, good gauges etc etc. It will be a fun car though.

With an RB26 u'll be looking at $15,000+ if you want something that will last and still pull out those figures. Someone who I know has R32 gtr had a full rebuild and is a complete beast and has spent about $20k so yeh not a cheap project at all.

some of that i think depends on the use of the car

being street or track etc

YES very achievable as there a number of rb26 low mount twins running this awkw around the place.

Equipment needed

Turbos .Garret Gt2560r 707160-5 or the HKS 2530 (these are the best two choices for what you want)

Ecu. Apexi PFC (only choice in my option for street gtr)

Afms. RB20/25afms (up to 530rwhp)and Z32 afms over this level (descreen the afms is good tip)

Injectors. 700cc sards

Cams. Tomei poncam 260deg 9.15mm lift or similar HKS etc

Cam Wheels. Tomei make great units but any will do the job (yes very importane in the final tune)

Exhaust. You need dumps and full exhaust (3 1/2" is good or twin system)

Fuel system. The r32 needs a direct power supply to the fuel and most likely a pump upgrade the r33 and r34 can make the hp if the pressure is not altered on the std system.

I would note running this power for any length of time especially in a r32 you will need forged pistons and a set of arp rod bolt (atleast).

there are many other nice things you can add but i have just listed what i have found you will need

Pete

ps as for the cost of all that well it variies to much and also weather your willing to work on the car yourself

Im looking at the same amount of power in my gtr as well.Good to see someone else is in the same boat as me.

Pnblight does the Garret Gt2560r 707160-5 have the same specs and spools at the same revs as the HKS2530 ?Just wondering because I hear HKS basically sells Garret turbos but with the HKS name,so want to know if theres any difference besides the names..

Cheers.

ok the hks2530 do spare some parts with gt2560r ie turbine wheel and housing but the garret run a different compressor wheel and to try and explain the difference from what i have seen it the garret spool better and are more efficient below 1.5bar but the hks 2530 can really come in to there own after 1.5bar.

The garret gt2560r 707160-5 are the best early spool and low end hp i have seen reliative to there potient.

3500rpm ~135rwhp

4000rpm ~180rwhp

4500rpm ~240rwhp

5000rpm ~360rwhp

5500rpm ~435rwhp

7500rpm ~529.4rwhp

so as you can see the power is early and quiet linear to explain by seat of the pants ride the engine pulls from 3000rpm and the its on turbos and hailing by 4000rpm which makes it an awesome track car, very fast and user friendly.

ps hope that helps

This will give you an idea on pricing. This setup was $15000 drive in / drive out tuned.

Standard Rb26 internals.

GCG high mount manifold, GCG 35/66 SPL, Turbosmart progate 48, Sard 650cc injectors, Bosch 044 fuel pump, Apexi D-Jetro ECU, Tomei adjustable cam gears, Gates timing belt, Custom dump pipe, cooler pipes, intake pipe and filter, custom power steer resovoir, Speedflow turbo plumbing. Eboost 1. Includes labour for removal and fittment of all parts. Tune at Unigroup.

Note that no engine internals have been done, you can safely add Another 10k+ with a engine build.

    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
