I don't think anyone is attacking it, I know I certainly am not.. we're just talking about it. I think it looks great, but where I'm from it would last about 3 hours on the road before it's defected.

Or last 3 hours without ripping the front bar off on a spoon drain!

I dunno how you're going to manage with another 30mm drop but I cant wait to see how it looks worship.gif

Your car needs MOAR LOW that's for sure!

I didn't think anyone was attacking it... I just find it funny the difference in culture. Here I get nothing but comments saying I need to go lower lol. I've ripped the bumper off once(broke side bolts), reversing out of work car park over those stupid car park stoppers, parked too far forward.

30mm lower won't be too bad, I can get over all speed bumps, it's only my driveway I struggle... My neighbour who's acop has fits of laughter whenever he sees me come out of it lol

Hence the reason i'm going for a cert... It's getting certed at the height pictured, but afterwards you can go 5% lower or higher without getting pink stickered (defected). Here if you have a cert, cops can't touch you(most of the time)

Lucky bugger, they mean nothing in SA. Cops just defect you and say "I don't know if it's legal or not, so we'll let the inspectors find out".

Have to always keep the stock parts here and just swap them in/out as required.

that's a bit of a pain!

In saying that, certs can be a hassle here... Say if you get coilovers one month, you need a cert... At the same time they cert your coilovers, they record what wheels you went for the cert on and it's put ont oyour cert plate(without your say!) So you cant change wheels, unless you wana pay $500 and go for another cert... Same with steering wheels, if you went for a cert with an aftermarket steering wheel, then convered back to stock, you can get defected.... Fail!

Back to stock seems pretty retarded although I can understand it when one mod requires another mod if that makes sense.

I know, doesn't make sense to me... I find it stupid that before you get a cert, you can change wheels every day, yet once you're certed for 18x9s, 18x8 or 18x8.5 become unsafe!

my new stagea i picked up a couple of weeks ago

Welcome Michael :action-smiley-069: . Did you just polish it? Looks really shiny in that pic.

that was the pic the previous seller used when he was selling the car

Simons14's old stag in Adelaide? :-)

yea i brought it off him a few weeks ago now :D

saw this fs. imo very clean car

yea unfortunately pictures do make it look better then it is, few paint fade spots, and rust under the mirrors. but ill hopefully get the rust fixed and a full respray with in the next few month, possibly try and find a new front bar. thinking of a dayz front to accommodate a possible front mount.

Weird... looked fine to me, but I didn't go over it with a fine tooth comb.

Rust seems to be fairly common on C34s. Good luck with it, hope to see it around!

    • Nice one, I'd argue that the white S1 RS260 is certainly the best looking of the Stageas. And yes, fully agree on the forum situation. It's a bit of a shame, but at least SAU is a good place to be. I found the facebook groups to give me FOMO because people were trying to one-up each other and show off in some way. Feels much more natural here. There are people with seriously nice builds, but I can appreciate it rather than it making me question my life choices. Might be that people are more open with sharing how much work/money/suffering it takes to actually get there.
    • Evening, wanted to pop in and finally register to say hi to everyone here on SAU!   It's been a while since I've been active on a forum, but back in the day I used to be relatively active on ClubLexus and other hobby-related forums. I'm glad to see SAU is still around, since with the advent of Facebook and Discord it seems forums aren't what they once were. As a recent new owner of an S1 260RS Stagea, I've found so many older guides and helpful tips from SAU that I figured I needed to join and say a grave thank you. My recent acquisition has only become legal in the US for the past year, and knowing that similar car enthusiasts from across the pond have already figured out the kinks and tricks to get these 25+ year old cars running well. I look forward to diving into more of the SAU forums as well as hopefully contribute some info myself for future posterity.   As a pic tax, here is one of the few good photos I have of my Stagea. I hope to get way more in the future!
    • Is this where I say "Hey man my airbox cost me horsepower in my Naturally Aspirated Engine"? (I know you need them for legality in NSW)
    • 1.5mm alloy folded up, it will need a tweek, as the angled bend only got to around 45° as that was the max that the break press would get with the other bends, and I needed a fair bit more, but and the alloy is easy to bend too my will by hand once I trim the lower section out I'll Dremel out and form the angle and mounting point on the lower section when time permits  As for the lid, I'm looking at going a "cap", instead of a flat lid to hide the fixtures a bit
