Finally got the car reg'd today. A massive relief after a year and a half. Might be able to call myself a real skylines driver instead of a carport racer. Goes in tomorrow for the tune. Can't wait. Could have been more excited but I am to tight ass to buy some new tyres and pads at the moment so that can wait until next year.

Not long now. Don't forget your fold up chairs. They come in very handy and are alway forgotten.

This trip is going to be chaos. Had the car tuned and it was found that cam gears were out one tooth and it only made 170rwkw with the pfc which untuned ran better than the stock ecu. I now I have 292rwkw so its going to be heaps more fun and also it will be my first track day with the 4wd working and good suspension.

Only two more days until the adventure begins peoples, f--k yeh! Beer and power. What more could you want?

Thanks Snowy. It'll the good to get back into it again. I bought a book on driving the other month (going faster) that expains how to brake, enter and accelerate out of corners and how to approach diferent lines. It makes sense but I haven't tried any of it yet. I've been doing it wrong all this time I found out thou. As for my no holding back driving style it may have to stop soon. I want some fast times finally. Maybe I'm getting old. Reading books and talking sensible. Whats going on?

Also I might have to consult the NSW thread to re-educate myself no how to tackle the pubs. From last time I was there I remember something about lining up in straight lines at the bar and middies?

    • As I wait for parts to be delivered, I have managed to procure via a contact a R32 Nistune ECU......for now I just want to monitor what the car is doing but eventually.......who knows where we go 😂
    • To back this up, I'm always looking on the outside, seeing the level, and then opening it up anyway, as I'm worried the level I've looked at, is more so a scunge line. Then you end up dipping your damn finger in it too depending on the type of tank you're looking at just to make sure I'm not going insane.   PS, Mark, polish up the none moroso one a bit and then give it a clear coat. The Moroso one looks to be way shiner (not mirror polished, just shinier) and it'll still look weird with the two different alloys beside each other. Either that, or Id probably paint them a flat black...
    • Good old Orange Park hey... 😛   f**k I miss that race track
    • lo, it was a death trap. Good times. Got any Fatz Drift Day DVDs still available?
    • Yes, overthinking. Many PS reserviors are completely opaque. Our Skyline ones, for example. Have to remove lid, peak inside, swirl the dipstick, try to remember how to read it, etc etc. Normal. Radiator overflows are often sufficiently opaque and scunged up that you can't see the true level inside anyway, and have to open and have a peak. Besides which, I replaced the (massively expensive, even back then) plastic overflow in my Alfa GTV, back in the '90s with a stainless one that I had a good fabricator make up to be dimensionally same-same, that looks remarkably similar to the Bogan's Moroso one above, and I never suffered any particular paranoia that I didn't know how much coolant was in it.
