Many people do that, but not many people do that in the rain, or do burnouts in the rain, and then race in front of cops.....

yeah good point...u gotta be a tool to start with and no amount of sense, logic seems to deter a tool from being a tool.

I'd be interested to know which SAU member it was too.. there's not a huge number of R34 drivers in the club. At least I can say it wasn't me  My car was in the workshop on a hoist last night.

i can confirm that. my car was on the hoist next to this 1! ;)

damn this is a massive post for 1 day!

ive got so much i could say but its all pretty much been said by other members.

being a member of a resuce team and seeing what happens AFTER somebody has lost control was the best wake up call i could ever experience. fair enough a little squirt on the go pedal is all good, but not 30+ on the limit. thats just plain stupidity. calder park is that side and sandown is this side ppls! id hate to rock up to a job 1 day and see a beautiful car with sau stickers wrapped around a tree...

and for the record, ive owned 3 cars. a VL 2 speeding tickets. a VS 1 speeding ticket and a GTR fine free! :)

the fastest car out of the lot and no fines!! gotta hand it to u buddy! We all have done stupid things, just thank god that we are still here. But I guess in a way this club does send a strong msg of taking it to the track if one needs to feel the need for speed....so keep up the good work SAU :)

Firstly let me just say, calder park is open every friday night, so do your f**king drag racing there!

Secondly, graeme( is that how you spell it?) i hope you were very heavy handed on this individual, it really make me angry to hear about this. I understand that you have done a lot of work in the force to build some sort of positive relationship between the club on the police, and to have this happen, and infront of your must piss you off. My only hope is that the work that you have done doesnt go back to square one, where you have officers telling your what a group of "Hoons" us skyline drivers are.

Dont give up on the club yet, some of us still have our heads screwed on and dont live life a quarter mile at a time between the lights.

Cheers Jarrod

Excellent, was sure something like that was in the Constitution

Ohhh - and I think the behaviour itself was ofcourse stupid - my initial post was more about club responsibilities in this case.

27. Misconduct:

31. Expulsion of Members:

I assure you Mr R34 GT-t driver.

You will hear from the Committee if you are a current paid member.

If not, remove the stickers from your car as your behaviour is not acceptable.

Cheers - Ash

its clear your a moron. you contradicted yourself in the space of 2 posts. lol(Quote ***JAR***)

It is clear you have a hard time understanding sarcasm. :)

In fact calling someone a moron almost seems like you have some major issues......read the thread properly and dont jump to conclusions.

Haha you and me both, I read the SE Suburbs R34 GT-T and I'm thinking.....I bet they think it was ME :)

Not like you can miss my car though, that and I have no battarazies :D

If people pay to become a member of SAuVIC, then go out of their way to make an ass of themself and endanger other peoples lives on the roads, and there are witnesses, shouldn't they be held acccountable for their actions?

Surely the committee has the right to revoke memberships based on such stupid behaviour?

Ultimately, it makes the club look bad when the next triple fatality clearly shows a SAu sticker visible on one of the windows of the near un-identifiable smashed up vehicle?

if you can come on here and honestly say you have never ever lost traction in the wet and have never ever exceeded the speed limit by 30 km'h then I will say hello to the pink elephants and the flying cops

EXACTLY!!!

Everyone flames one another for doing stupid shit on the road, but their can not be ONE PERSON who has never done anything stupid on the road. I mean if he didnt get caught then this wouldnt be such a big issue would it? Move on your all crying, same thing happens on other forums and its just stupid reading about it.

My 2 cents,

Almost every one here has been guilty of driving in an unsafe manner at one time or another.

This car club has a good reputation, and has a lower dickhead to real person ratio than most, i am a proud club member and think that this situation is unfortunate. This will happen again, lets hope not, boys WILL be boys.

Times have changed, we need to make a concerted effort to keep safe and smart on the roads and save it up for the track.

There are idiots everywhere, try not being one, I'm trying.......very trying.

Other forums aren't part of CAMS affiliated clubs that actually have a public reputation to uphold.

Did you even read the first post? You've missed the point completely.

    • Just don't use ChatGPT or any other artificial stupidity for the equivalent of googling. Their demonstrated inability to discriminate reality from hallucination should be enough to make them totally untrusted. LLMs don't know anything and cannot think to even the smallest extent. They are just predictors of the next word, and that should never be confused with capability.
    • I think, given the usage model described in the OP, I'd never ever experience the wonders of the 400kW upgrade. What I really need is boost from 2000rpm and probably no more than 260-270rwkW. But I suspect that the highflow is not actually the turbo for that purpose, so I may in fact need to get a G25 or 30 or something right sized and very spooly. We shall see after it is tuned. I've had to back the boost and boost ramp off to stop the thing from pinging since the highflow went on, so I've been almost living the NA life for 9 months now! Injectors are recently in hand. AFM is in hand. Dyno is fixed. Just need to clear a queue of f**king Supras out of the way (and probably fit my new gearbox). So....some time this year? Lol.
    • For what I gather is a Sunday/summer car....braided is fine. You're not going to be left without a vehicle and you have plenty of time for inspection/maintenance. Oof. I wouldn't use them that way. They can probably handle the temperature** but the internal corrugations means that their flow characteristics are a bit shit. Lots of extra friction and pressure loss. Makes them flow like the next pipe size down. ** They are stainless, and the stainless can usually be at least something like 304L, which is pretty good at higher temperatures (unlike 316L, which I would use for a wrt/corrosive environment, but not a particularly hot environment). But the welding needs to be top notch. And even then, because you usually need at least one cone-seat end on them (because you can twist the hose and do up both ends at the same time unless one of them is a union) they can be prone to coming loose with heat cycles.
    • I don't have the OEM oil feed lines though and the turbo-wraparound line is torn, only has water. My plan is to get replacements for these and just connect a braided line to there. And make sure it's leak free. Hoses like these are also sometimes used to connect external wastegates, so for an EGR I think you're good using them.
    • Alright I understand. The most likely case is probably gonna be that I just keep the OEM unit in the car as long as it works.
