Hi just wondering what most of you guys call people that hate 4 & 6 cyl turbo cars. I am talking about those V8 people that have only one view with that being V8's. I personally have a appreciation for all types of cars but I don't diss others for their choice of car and engine. I just simply say that its not really my type of car. A guy at my work is like a V8 nut and calls ne thing less a POS. I like to call him a redneck hick. what do u call them?

the people like that aren't much different to people that think their reasonably stock turbo 6 will beat any random v8 (not dirrected at anyone, just making a point).

if it is a 'stang, it may have some mumbo, depending on what mods it has. a lot of the older v8's go better than the new ones. they don't have an ecu telling the motor to stop making power, or to control emissions. its as simple as to go faster, put your foot down further.

just think of cars like the XY GTHO phase 3 came out of the factory running low 14 second passes, and 0-100 in 5.5 seconds. now that may be common figures now, but this is a car built over 30 years ago. get a healthy one of these, throw some cams in it, different carby, bigger exhaust and a few other little things and you have a car that runs 12's, and will fry the tyres if you sneeze on the accelerator.

i love v8's especialy the big blocks they kick ass.

your friend is an idiot alot of people out there drive the best car they can get for their money and the application it will be used for. not always just for brute force and to be able to tow a horse float.

Yeah this guy i work with hates drifting. Says that people do drifting cos they can't do circuit racing. He recons that i should get a v8 or something for drifting. I tell him the reson people prob dont use v8s cos they are heavy and don't wip round the corners like the smaller cars. I was at winton raceway on the wkend and there was a mixture of cars. The v8's were in all the events but for some reason they all didn't want to have a crack at the drifting? i have NO idea why. Only one guy in a v8 gemini took it on, and he was not doing very well. spun out many times.

If "the guy you work with" finds out that Robbie Bolger took out 3rd place in the 2006 Toyo Drift Australia Series Championship, and 2nd place in the Oran Park top eight while driving a Monaro, your argument that you can't drift a V8 is going to go down the gurgler pretty fast.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
