How different would the results really be from an Rb25?? I'm going to be playing with an RB25DET Neo Powered R32 GTS4 soon, will be getting either a GT3076R, GTX3076R or T67-25G ... depending on where the owner goes with that. I'm quite interested to see how that goes.

blast from the past. I never did it but the idea still hangs with me. I might do it one day. thinking about a small-ish borg warner EFR TS/twin gate set-up. could be nice.

since this thread I built my GTR with GTSS, another one with 2530s, and yet another one with 2530s so still rocking twins. current GTR is jun 2.7 engine with 2530s but thinking about putting it onto E85 now and wind up the wick a bit.

New to the forum and wanted some advice on SST upgrade for R32 GTR.

Built motor (rods/pistons/cams/cam gears all the usual stuff)

Basically just looking for response (only 260 poncams)

What's your opinions on HKS 3037?

Looking at the rb25 sticky, the hks 3037 is making 280-300kw, is that acceptable? A built rb26 is probably better than the rb25s in the sticky thread. There are established good response, better power twin low mounts, set ups well described. I like the simplicity of a single setup.

My GTR initially had an Apexi IHI RX-6 TCW77P25. Stock RB26 with a couple of cams. Little baby, could only make 400hp atw no matter how much boost I threw at it. left it on 19psi, super responsive, full boost well under 4k ran heaps of mid 11s at the drags. (ps if anyone wants it - it's sat in the garage at home with manifold, wastegate setup etc). Upgraded to a GT35R and overcame the tempation to go to the T04z and the like. Useable power > *

A new GTX3076 or whatever they are would be wicked.

Yeh 300kw would be acceptable. Just looking for a nice responsive thing that you don't have to wring its neck evrerywhere

Hey guys, been doing some reading and found this old old post.

Can't find to much more on the subject.

I am currently setting up a small turbo on my r32 gtr, after putting n1 turbos on and hating them I decided I was never going through the twin turbo shit fight again, and I couldn't see why one turbo, wouldn't spool up better than two that are similar size combined, you have less mass to turn, in one turbo, and less bearings, less friction, maybe I'm wrong, but I couldn't find a straight answer anywhere so I decided I needed to do it myself.

I have a STD engine so won't be chasing big power, so I decided I would go for response instead, I have a very low budget and have done all the work myself.

The turbo I chose was a kinugawa tdo6sl2-20g ($1000)

This is t3, internally gated and has a 8cm rear housing. It came with all the gaskets and hoses I needed to fit it to the engine, didn't have to buy another thing in that area. Have heard alot about these turbos and really wanted to give one a go.

This is bolted to a ebay manifold ($350), and did some custom intake piping from some silicone joiners off eBay and some alloy pipe laying around at home ($50)

For the dump pipe, I used 3 inch flexible stainless truck exhaust ($60), down to the cat, this is welded onto a vband flange which came with the turbo

I know some of you would be cringing by now at this set up, but I'm into trying somthing Different.

I brought a second hand adaptronic e1280s off my mate for $500 and wired in a map sensor ($60)

The set up hasn't run yet, just in the final stages of setting up the adaptronic, I have heard of people making 300kw with these turbos on sr20s and rb25s, so I don't see why the 26 won't do it, and it should have very little lag which will make it awesome to drive and look after my STD engine, not having to rev it hard to get ssomewhere.

Or it might just not work... Haha we'll soon find out.

Were never dynoed, they would have been alot better if tuned properly and stuff but I just wanted single for the ease of working on the car.

The n1s got on boost at about 4-4500 which I was not stoked with.

I've done a number of tests based on small singles fitted to a unopened GTR engine. You can find more details on my thread.

Be brief. I've fitted one of my TD06SL205 Turbocharger on my GTR externally gated in 10cm rear. It runs off a TD06L2 turbine, with a compressor that is15% more efficient then a standard 20G without adding lag. This is a proven turbocharger working with SR20 and Rb25 engines.

On Rb26, because the head flows so well, the extra rev and engine capacity, this turbo can not keep up with set boost once the engines revs over 5000RPM. Stronger external gate spring only caused higher boost spike in mid range while made no changes up top. Been the Kando's standard TD06L2-20G, your boost tapper should be even worse.

On E85 the best run was 367awkws, and averaging of 350rwkws.

Goal was responsive 400awkws, data from the following evaluations shown that I could never get that. Lead me thinking twice of why Nissan have chosen to twin turbocharge this engine.

Anyway, I don't usually stop till I get there, so scraped every thing I knew about Rb25det and start fresh, many weeks of modeling, testing and $$$$$ later (Check details on my thread), it worked.

Ps. It doesn't cost much more then what you've paid. List your TD0620G back on Ebay and fit this instead.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed 
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
