They are great cars for off the showroom floor....i had a boner for it when he first got it. But a ride the other night in my car at 20psi and im feeling the love for my car again. Especially now i have the new gearbox and diff for it :ninja:

Stick with the GTSt, especially since yours looks so trick :ninja:

day1-39.jpg

How can you want to part with that?

:)

You are right! I will learn to drive first......then I will buy and AWD so I can forget everything I learnt ;)

That pic shows where the workshop bent my bonnet :ninja:

Haha - especially if you go the EVO path.

When James was first driving at Wakefield he had very bad brake shudder. Then I went for a spin in his car and discovered you could just hammer up to a corner - and then turn. And the car would go around. Brakes really weren't needed. And neither was talent.

Don't want to get into the my wang is bigger than yours argument, even thou it is!

But one thing to note on the day is that the track temp at EC was very high and the semi's weren't sticking to their full potential. Which was proven when I ran a best time of 1.47.7 on the very hot dry track, then went and ran a 1.47.8 on a damp cooler surface when the rain was a slight drizzle. I wasn't pushing as hard, but the car had the grip back.

Just thought you might find that interesting.

I can't speak for Snowy, but last time I checked - I'm not gay. It's been a while since my last, you know 'check up' though, so ah... nah.

Anyhoo - you guys should stop picking on the way we talk, eh :)

Much to my surprise after receiving the Presidents Choice award last year for assuming this Alistair character you so regularly spoke about "may" have been your partner :P

This is great stuff. A lot of passion. The only thing I can add to it is it is a tricky track and to cut some sharp times will take a bit of practice.

The GTRs would have dominated the Zed if we drove them to their limit, but the track got the better of us.

Next time the Zed is gunna have to watch out. I'm putting serious time in on V8 Supercars 3....

Just move to Sydney for a few months. You can work on your tan and dance moves...and if you have time cut some laps at the Creek :P

You guys suck...even though i have done over 15 days at EC, i was only hoping for about a 1:50 flat. So you would have all still kicked my ass. Wakefield is where its at....blood will be drawn at Wakefield in 2007. With Australia Day forever being remembered as the day the GTSt fought back :D

I am thinking of coming for that one too :)

why do you say that?

Just looking at the tyre sidewall deflection. Looks to me as if it needs about 1-1.5lbs more. Looks like it is going over so far, it is probably hopping sideways a bit if it loses a little grip. Would that be right Jack?

My tyre pressures were up the shit at EC. Couldn't get good grip so took some pressure out, got worse. Put more pressure in and got better. But by then the tyres were shagged. Couldn't do more than 1 lap before it started to understeer like a WRX. A track like EC needs new rubber, will make sure next time!!!!

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
