The FIA seriously need to take a hard look at themselves. They allow this race to happen every year although EVERYBODY hates it, and they want to replace Melbournes spot on the calander? What a boring waste of time this was. We all knew what the podium was going to look like and the only slight bit of entertainment was Alonso overtaking Kubica and Davidson getting punted off by the Renault

And now instead of a 35 point constructors point lead, Mclaren is 19 points infront of Ferrari. The FIA make me sick. This is why im embarrassed to tell people i watch F1

sato passing massa (and staying there!) was entertaining too! go taku.

I can't believe how retarded RBRs strategy for webber was. in the first stop they fuelled him up like he was going a 2 stop, then for some unknown reason brough him in early for a short stop, and then again for a third. He was within a couple of seconds of alonso all race even when heavy and had he been 2 stopping I've no doubt he would have been 5th, 6th, or 7th at worst. MORONS! 2 stop was always going to be the way to go.

apart from that what a boring race.

My god Massa is such a shit kicker. Started 14th finished 13th... i think Ferrari have discovered who their number 1 is now

Damon Hill wasnt as bad as i thought he was going to be... he had some interesteing things to contribute and was generally on the ball. You can see he's still very keen on F1 and all the drama associated with it. The best bit of his commentary was when Alonso ran wide following Nick and Damon sounded like he almost leaped out of his chair "ALONSO'S OFF!!!".

yeah a bit of a shame he doesn't know the difference between extravagant and eccentric.. especially since he used it so many times.

imagine driving a ferrari and getting passed by a super aguri, and then staying there for 69 more laps... nasty.

and the fact that he called Alonso, Massa... twice ffs

And it goes to show, that unless he's on pole, Massa has nothing to contribute to the sport... at least the Mclaren boys are keeping it interesting!! The next time they're both on the podium should be good viewing. Much like the post quali press conference where hamilton really did shit me.

hamilton is a rookie. He doesnt know how to "play" f1 games. he told a packed press conference he "was told nothing over the radio" ( in reference to letting alonso past at the beginning of Q3 ) and that only when he was on his in lap for the final sprint was he told to slow down a bit because alonso was coming into the box.

Oh he said it in a room packed with press....so it must be true. :P

I love how as soon as he does something dodgy, he's just a rookie and doesn't know what he's doing, but when he's scoring podiums he's the greatest driver to ever grace the sport....stop riding his sack so hard :D

Ok so Lewis disobeyed team orders.....bad. BUT those team orders were in order to benefit Alonso and possibly jeopardise Hamilton. So I have no problem that Hamilton didn't obey, however Alonso acting like a little girl and stopping Hamilton going out for a final lap was pathetic.

Massa's car was a dog, once again showed he can't do anything unless he is leading from the front.

+1

I can't fathom the reasoning- One of the drivers misbehaves (and only disadvantages his own teams chances), and the FIA thinks it's fair play to strip the manufacturer of championship points for the round. Are the teams supposed to be able to regulate every thing the drivers do? As if Ron Dennis wasn't ticked off enough by the incident itself anyway. You'd be more than a little pissed if you were spending all that money just to give the drivers a chance at more points. I'm not overly fussed if Lewis or Alonso win the drivers championship (would like Lewis to win though), but i do care weather McLaren win the manufacturers championship.

FIA is french for Teh Ghey

So. It's ok for Hamilton to disobey team orders to get ahead, but Alonso is not allowed to do what he needs to, to get ahead?

I don't understand how Hamilton letting Alonso through ( the team strategy ) when he should have, would have benifeted Alonso. The strategy was there to ensure both drivers could come in and out without incident. Hamilton disobeyed the team strategy and now Alonso is the pr!ck for putting him in his place?

Either way bring it on, about time F1 got a bit (and I mean a bit) of feeling back into it.

agreed. pretty weak though that he couldn't even pass a super aguri...

Ron admits to mistrust between drivers

Sunday, 05, August, 2007, 17:09

McLaren team boss Ron Dennis has admitted that there are tensions and mistrust between his two drivers amid their intense battle for the world championship.

No, really? :laughing-smiley-014:

I would have paid good money to be a fly on the wall at the debrief after qualifying.

Once again the FIA have made a dogs breakfast of it, again. So McLaren had problems, but how do they get penalised when, say, Fisichella got away with his efforts in qualifying? Oh Ferrari benefitted. I understand now.

fisi got hammered as well didn't he? or was that trulli? one of the euro fags gots reamed for holding people up in quali. actually yeah it was fisi.

Reamed how, though? I don't think he got dumped down the back of the grid or had a time removed. Certainly Renault got some constructors points.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
