Well I was happy to blame Fernando. But it looks like it wasn't down to him at all.

Which begs the question.

How did the FIA decide on that penalty if they had any evidence from the McLaren people?

so it wasnt Fernando fault but he still took the blame and drop 5places. yeah that is fair :)

i didnt think it was fair the FIA took the points away from McLaren but like i said im a Ferrari fan so anything that helps them is good ! LOL!

Magic 8 ball says:

Next year:

Webber to be McLarens #1 driver on their new second string team.

Hamilton to mouth off to Ron Denis and Webber.

Hamilton on the sidelines for a few weeks with broken jaw, which happened in "Testing incident"

Alonso to suddenly become less lippy.

Webber promoted to 1st string team.

many poles and trophys for Marc.

Do you honestly think Webber would let Hamilton get away with the crap he has been getting away with. Mate I think there would be a heavy session of "car park counselling" occurring.

Cheers

Muz

You gotta remember Webber is an Aussie, Hamelton is a Pom, and aussies are naturaly gifted at beating poms at everything (barring soccer) :( , And he has the added power of "the jaw".

On a serious note, Webber has a cooler head than Alonso, and would probably deal with it better. Alonso it great at withstanding pressure when he's leading, but if he's behind, all he seems to see is red.

Heidfeld to McLaren wouldn't suprise me, he was brought up through the McLaren F3000 team (or what ever it was called back then), but got beaten by Kimi for the call-up to maccas from sauber.

Looks like Alonso may be on they way out, which is a shame. It was too early to promote Hamilton to F1, it seems he hasnt learnt his place in the team. Telling Ron to go swivel was the worst thing i've read all year... the disrespect he's shown is unbelieveable. If he makes it to melbourne next year, the abuse im going to shout at him may get me ejected

I like it. good prediction. :P

Alonso is a primadonna wanker and Ron should sack him. Hamilton is just as good 9maybe even better) and sooky lala Alonso cant hack it-Sack him Ron

looks like you boys have been busy while ive been on holiday in hiroshima and miyajima..

id love to get involved but not right now..

im knackered.

but tomoorow i definitely have something to say!:nyaanyaa::thumbsup:

I hate to say this..... but I'm actually enjoying watching F1 more now.

When teams are in accord, like McLaren were earlier, they tend to back off once the rest of the field is left behind. I for one want to see Hamilton and Alonso in a no-holds-barred race to the finish, each fighting for points, and trying to hold off a ferrari or BMW challenge.

I hate it when a driver backs off due to "Team rules". Yes, going hard may mean that one or both cars get a DNF, but racing is racing, and with the championship on the line, each driver should be allowed to go as hard as they like in the pursuit of the big trophy.

I never really liked Alonso, I think he's a bit of a prick, but in all honesty, the guy can drive. He's been there and done that. I think he intentionally stalled Hamilton in the qualifying at hungary, as payback, but Alonso has been there and done that. He's been world champ. Hamilton has talent, no doubt at all, but he hasn't really been tested in a way that would show HOW talented he is.

A come from behind win (with track passing, not leapfrogging) , a wet weather win, a down and dirty duel with a pair of Ferrari's.... these things would show what Hamilton has.

At the moment, I'd say he's still not quite as good a driver as Alonso, but he definitley has the potential.

Im so rooting for Alonso for the rest of the season. I find myself wanting Lewis to fail and have a falling out with McLaren. If he continues to carry on i dont think its a huge stretch to see him booted because no doubt Dennis will get huge money for him at another team...begs the question who would replace him thought. The fact there arent any strong drivers available...Webber has a contract even though i think he would make a solid team mate for Alonso. Much like DC was to Mika

At first I thought hamilton was the gun but now and especially after hungary.

He seems more and more like a snot nosed posh lil ba$tard that hasnt paid he's dues, With a bit more lip on him than he should have.

Id like to see him in a ferrari and Kimi in the Macca.

I personally don't want to see webber in the McLaren, it would be a waste to a perfectly good car. Then again alonso wouldn't have to worry about his team mate beating him. From what i'm hearing from inside McLaren Ron is really unhappy with Lewis attitude he has accumulated this season, which i can sort of understand with the amount of press coverage and his results so far. There was a team meeting after the last race where they were told to pull their heads in, Ron is more worried about McLarens reputation than the drivers personal fight between each other. It will be interesting to see how or if they change their behavior. (its good having a friend who works for McLaren :( )

Being an EX Sauber fan i'm enjoying watching the BMW Sauber team lift their game this year (it has helped that honda has fallen to bits)

Not so long ago, I would have agreed that Webber was not up to par, but he's done some great qualifiers, and some podiums with cars that are not competitive. Seeing him in a McLaren would be awesome. He works his arse off, and more often than not, the car lets him down, the last few races, the car has held together and he's had some luck (well, except hungary)

I think he has the ability to get many more podiums, provided the car is good enough to compete.

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
