so if you did get pulled over for being too low in a factory fezza... what happens then?

the law CLEARLY states that no point of any road driven vehicle can be below 100mm... (i have looked on the vic roads site and it does not say "except fezza's cos they are cool and hyperexpensive"

when i got defected last week EPA was there and they tested my exhaust and i was 9db over and i am going to make my exhaust and make it more quite and around the legal limit. but im running a PFC in my car and just to be on the safe side if they do an emmisons test im gonna install a stock ecu for the test but having a highflow turbo will it still give a different emissons reading even though its running a stock computer?

An f430 has 4.5 inches ground clearAnce which is like 11cm. I'm guessing it looks low cuz the body is prob the lowest point and not a hanging exhaust

yah, but they have other models too... i'm not sure of fezza dimentions tho...

and the exhaust is not always the lowest point in a car.... mine is a custom job and is all tucked away :)

I'm getting around to clearing my EPA that I got last august.

They only show 2 places for Emissions and noise. Hoppers and Moorabin.

Anyone know of closer to where I live in doncaster east? I heard there was one in McCloud but can't find it on their website.

I have to get an EPA noise and emissions test done fairly soon and was wondering If I could get some advice? I have a R33 gtr vspec series 3, current mods are, -5 turbos, power fc, greedy elec boost controller, nismo fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and injectors, cam gears, exhaust, and pods

I was planning to remove the boost controller, return the injectors and ecu to stock. I believe that the turbos shouldnt be a problem as they are nearly the same as stock. Do I need to return the fuel pump and pressure regulator to stock, I know Im meant to but will they effect emissions if the stock ecu is controlling them and would the inspectors be able to tell between the stock and nismo items. I will quieten the exhaust and leave it that way. Also if I refit the stock ecu will I need to get the car retuned? And is there a difference between an ecu for a gtr and gtr vspec. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I live in Greensborough and still had to go to Hoppers to get my full emissions test done. Was a major pain in the arse. Apparently the Macleod one doesn't to that kind of stuff, which sucks coz its like 10 mins away from me.

Mcloud do that sort of stuff. They only send you there when you have had prior EPA issues. I've been to 2 noise test and a full emissions test in moorabbin. Then got another EPA and they said I must go to mcloud. Which is better because they don't have a hoist :P

Did you explain the situation?

Just said that McCleod would be a lot easier since I will be towing it there and they said that those 2 places are the only ones I can go to.

Typical Government Agency. Everything is just too hard for them.

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
