before I even knew the Murcialagos were being imported to Australia there was a black one parked outside DEMIR on paramata road. This was at the time they were just released!

interesting thread. I'll take some photos of cars down at my work parking. Theres a few ferraris, galardo, diablo and an aston martin. Plenty of porsches and mercs. And one R34 =( lol

hmmm wouldnt also have a HSV Clubby VY series?

Yeah I think soo... His name is David... I think he just sold his Aston to backtrade and bought a new HSV... just released one...I don't follow em so I have no idea!

spotted a fluro green murcielago and an f430 within 20 mins of each other on queen st bris while on a business trip.. made the day .. was druelling after the car... the owner saw me get floored as he was cruising up and gave it the mother of blips... tented the dacks up pretty well. ogled the shit out the lines an was slowly walking after it.. he drove into the lane next to the building i was going into.. gave it another ass caning rev.. made me get a little pre-cum an idled it into the garage... was a spritual moment for a fleeting second when i thought he was pulling over for me to have a looky close up... then realising he was pulling into the garage.. DOH! dream on.. pfftt... but atleast he let me listen to the thing.. it would piss most of with twats constantly staring.. there were some wanks on the other side of the street making burnout signs... just shoook my head an was rewarded with some hard revs.. god the thing sounded sexy.

This was probably the first one I saw too..

WTF-33R Im assuming you're working at Trivett? They look like the shirts they just brought in before I left. I saw and drove plenty of decent cars up there back in the day. I know what you mean when you say they don't excite you anymore. As much as I like "Supercars" the problem is you see one 996 Turbo, you've seen them all etc etc.

I use to work at Lambo and once you finish the first couple of days, it gets like any other job. Its almost worse because you have to take that extra attention to detail.

* Goes to visit Sam at work *

Man, I used to work just down the road in George Street in Parra, and on occasion I used to drive down past your work to jump on James Ruse Drive, then go home through there and Old Windsor Road. There was ALWAYS something nice to look at out there.

thats because trivett service centre is just off james ruse drive

i currently work at trivett and before that i work at rick damelian's and its so true the novelty wears off seeing all these cars and always being around these cars.. But if i ever see something different on the streets i have a mad druell..

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
