i like pauls order... police should definately be reported.

parking it somewhere else isnt a bad idea either for a little while altho if theyre local they will know when its back again

seriously the only way u will scare them off for good is to catch them in the act and chase them.. maybe not assault them but at least chase them. that way they will know u are onto them and prob wont try it again.

i mean lets face it, we all wud prob love to bash the living daylights out of them but in the end of the day that is assault and u prob wont want to end up fighting over the bashing in court. pretty easy for them to say u assaulted them for no reason. happened to my brother, he was being harassed by a group of 21 year olds, he cudnt take it anymore so wen they pushed and shoved him he fought back and yeh he smashed them pretty badly (2 of them) and he was only 16... they ended up taking him to court and saying he assaulted them for no reason... lucky he was under age and got let off with a slap on the wrist and curfew.

I had a similar problem with a commodore I used to own years ago... I had some big dollars of subwoofers and amplifiers in the boot. How I fixed that problem was that i installed a acouple of U bolts in the chassis of the bootlid and also I installed a couple in the floor of the boot also..Then I ran the biggest Mother of a chain and padlock through it all so when you opened the boot you only had about 4 inches before it would stop..Still enough for me to reach in and unlock the padlocks if needed...but not enough for the huge boltcutters required if they figured it out..so maybe try buying the biggest baddest lengths of chain that money can buy and padlock them all together at night...I know its a bit of a nuisance but if you set it up right so the padlocks are way under the car..beleive me they will be in for a surprise...better than losing those nice rims

i would really really love to catch them in the act.....

hmmm chain huh..... that could work, but a massive pain in the ass in the mournings, but worth it

is there any type of wheel bracing(like a club lock)on the market? which covers the studs?

cause i know if they take the rims then they will leave the car on the bodykit and then that will be damaged

Put a lil sticky note on one of ur rims saying "Im watching you!" ...Then, directly behind where they would be kneeling down at that rim with the sticky note maybe in the bushes or something, put one of them dolls from the movie SAW. That'll freak em out.... :D

Can you lock your gate in any way? It would be the easiest thing to do if you can.

Do you think they'll come back? They would know that you found out about the missing nut and it's pretty stupid to come back and finish off the job when the owner would be prepared for it.

easiest thing would be if your mum or someone you live with has a car,

park one side real close to a fence and park another car real close to the other side then they have no room to take the wheels

but personally i would stay up and kick the living shit out of them!!

does the gate open inwards or outwards? back a car up too either side.

random locknuts

security dog(check local paper, pre-trained, maybe rental?)

chains

tilt sensor alarm

gps tracking thingo

HOUNDS

Sit in a car a few doors down from your house in your street... then follow them home once they have tried to take your wheels. That way *when* you smash them, if they think it was you and they take it out on your house and/or your car.... you can then go to 'work' on their car and home. An eye for an eye :worship:

my motorbike got stolen from my garage a while ago, and it wasnt covered under 'home and contents' even tho it couldnt even be registered, just a 125cc dirt bike (i was like 15 few years ago now)

cheap way to go is get a sensor, wire it up to the main light in your bedroom or in the hall outside, just so it will wake u up then have a switch n just leave it on when u go to bed / you will need to set it up good.. iuno how ur drive way is set up but yeh could get annoying with people just passing by / walking to your door.. try be creative and hide in bush's ! xD

edit: this would be cheaper then most of the other options, and as you have stated u can get them in the act. Even have the sensor obious so they can see it they know that u will be on to them.

If you need to ask, you're just not MacGuyver enough......

Seriously, notify the police, contact your insurance company, swap the locknuts and keep an eye and ear out. Also speak with your neighbours. All neighbours are sticky beaks and they will be able to tell you who was in your driveway and at what time.

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
