I cant wait for the quote of the weekend from Hamfisted . I wonder what its going to be this week?

Perhaps ... "My cocksuredness means that i know i should win the WDC. Even if i dont win, i know i should... which means i have been right all along. I am the greatest driver"

not on current form

He has the most fastest laps, was in the hunt at Spa. If Singapore turns on the 30deg weather then i cant see Heikki getting in front of Massa, but i can see Kimi beating both Macs

you never know, it might rain and Webber might qualify 1st, only to finish 8th, thats if your mate doesnt try to run him off the road again.

i think ferrari having tyre warming issues may cause them some grief here. If it infact does rain during the weekend, it will compound their problems

I can tell you otherwise...

On the corner at the end of the raffles back straight, I was there today with my cousin.. That bitumen was hot, I mean we could walk on it bare foot, but it was rather unpleasant... Pleanty of heat for the fez to warm their rubber... Speaking to you live from Singapore.. Also I can say, that our very kind host predict 60 - 70% chance of rain for the race...

a rainy race is a good race in my opinion. Opens it up for a more skilled race rather than just pure engineering that mclaren and ferrari have.

ohh btw... Congrats to Sebastian Vettel on the last round win.

I would personally like to see a dry race. Rain in Singapore at night, the first night GP race will kill it. Roads in Singapore thankfully drain well, but when it rains it Singapore its almost enough to knock you out...so heavy rain, on a green street circuit at night with light refracting off its surface.

It wouldnt be a race , more a Pace Car parade:(

rain on a street circuit will make my weekend

You farkin know it maing.

Thatll make my season coz you know there going to be so close to wiping out every lap - greasy, slick and unrubbered plus WET track = carnage and lots of yellow flags.

So you want to watch a bunch of cars circulating around under the pace car for say 35-40 laps waiting for one of Singa's showers to pass? Not to mention the spectators at night in the rain. No thanks, i think a dry race at night on this track is going to be way cool. Rain will ruin it :P

lol, like it ruined Spa, Monza or Silverstone?

lol @ silly Roy.

I never said a deluge mang, but you know damn straight, rain will be pimpn.

What Roy said is correct. Rain will result in spray which when combined with what will almost certainly be an over zealous approach to safety will mean tonnes of safety cars. It is their first night race and spray & overhead lighting won't be a happy combination. So you had better hope it doesn't rain.

Track looks to be pretty difficult to overtake on.

This time of year you do get some lighter showers then other times of the year. And Singapore roads are damn good for coping with the downpours. But with it being a night race, knowing that when it rains it pours...personally i am praying for a dry race....completely different set of circumstances then the other wet races we have had.

The drivers are just that , drivers...not magicians. Hey, i will happily admit i was wrong if Singapore gets one of its usual floods mid race...but i will be hoping it doesnt happen.

I thought when running around the track that there was going to be several places for the brave to attack. We will see soon enough

Practice 1 starts at 9pm on http://www.soccer-live.pl/ITVF1/f1player.php

Here is an interesting article about the team costs, it shows how pathetic Toyota/Honda are and how well RBR and TR are punching above their weight.

    • Was there ever a model of the Stagea m35 that didnt have a badge on the grill? I thought I saw that somewhere, some aero edition or something? I cant find it again? davemoto
    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
