Hi guys,

Just thought I might share my video with ya'll. Went for a drive this morning (nice and cold), got up to about 200km/h.

Have alot of traction issues in 1st and 2nd gear, sometimes even third if you smash the gears in.

What do you guys think, not bad acceleration?

cheers

Nice man, I assume that was all done on a closed runway

270 odd kw is my eventual power aim, if you don't mind me asking how much was the 2835 and what other mods do you have? How much boost you running? I was originally wanting a GT-RS but from everything I have seen it will struggle to net 270+ without cams or excessive boost.

Hey mate, don't mind you asking at all.

The turbo was about $3,250 delivered to Canberra, Australia. I paid a little more as I wanted to pay with paypal (ALWAYS PAY WITH PAYPAL when buying things from overseas!!!.

Running about 17-18PSI (It fluctuates depending on the weather)

I got the normal mods; 555cc Nismo Injectors, Bocsh 040 fuel pump, GReddy front mount, Splitfire coilpacks, straight through exhaust, power FC, Cold air intake with heat shield, and the HKS GT2835 turbo with the HKS split dump pipe.

The turbo is ALOT laggier than stock, but yes MUCH MUCH tougher!

Personally, I don't think its worth it compared to the GT-RS, if I had a second chance, I would've gone for the GT-RS, purely because of the money factor. But then again, you do get the split dump with the 2835 turbo kit.....

Nonetheless, both are great turbos!

Cheers

I have 314rwkw and its not that much quciker than what you have recorded, well done.

haha, yeah, you were on a private runway

Cheers mate.

Yeah, ofcourse I was on a closed runway!

Mafia, when you achieved your 12.4 1/4 mile time, what was your 0-60 time? I thought with 314rwkw you should be in the VERY low 12's, maybe even break into the high 11s?

hey mate, the power was down a lot when I ran that time, as I just installed a new fuel pump and the AFR's were at 10:1 lol.

Not sure what it runs now with the new power, as the track is not finished. It was destroyed in the floods we had recently.

Be interestingf you could run a wheel speed sensor off a front wheel that way the loss of traction doesnt mess with your speedo.

Looks grunty, only, why post footage of you doing crazy speeds in a public place like youtube then link it on a public forum ;)

Because it was done on private property and I would like to see you or the police prove otherwise

Perhaps he was indicating to other cars he was entering pits?

Look we know he did it on a public road but the point is he filmed ONLY the instrument cluster and at no point did he say it was done on a public road. Innocent until proven guilty and there is nothing conclusive for the cops to go on. Lets just apreciate the video for what it is, which is someone with a new turbo showing us what its like

Thats interesting... The 2835 is usually considered to be a relatively lag free turbo...

I'm not saying that the turbo is a lag monster, but compared to the stock turbo (especially when I first got in the car after the dyno tune), it was sooooo much laggier than the stock turbo... But when it hits, it's nothing but smiles! :nyaanyaa:

Thanks for all the comments guys.

VERY nice turbo (HKS GT2835 Pro S) indeed.

cheers

Very nice video :( Was interesting to observe, I can't tell watching it if my turbo (.82a/r GT3076R) is any laggier - nothing obvious thats for sure . Something else which is interesting is your car is definitely a bit quicker than mine, I have made very similar power number but on a hub dyno so all it does is confirms what every already knows - hub dynos read a bit higher haha. When I sort a couple of things out I am tempted to try a 17-18psi tune and have a blat at the local race track (I actually have one 15mins drive from my house!! :( ) and see what mine does the rolling to 200k thing like.

Should be good for some rapid 1/4 mile times like that, especially with some sticky tires.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
