Ok, so we have a guy with a partly stripped out R34 with lexan windows who made a bit of power about 4 years ago and presumed he'd be in the 9s with ease, hence the plate, and he's yet to do a single 9 but with slicks he has run pretty good mph??

Anyone know what mph it has done and if there is a full weight 34 running quiker than 9.7?

Rob

Was just discussing this car last week with a mate too - there was hype about a come back but it never happened, would love to know if there was anything further or if anything still exists. Maybe Heat Treatments wrecked the fun? :action-smiley-069:

^^^ haha that's so funny.

I don't personally know the fella that owns gtr-700 but I've heard many vic people say he was a arrogant ranker years ago I think out at heathcote. It's a shame so many of these quick gtr's come and then go. Usually stripped for parting sale. There use to be so many Japanese gtr's in the RH9 club and now they are just not around gone. Real shame

I can answer why they come and go....money

GTR700 is sitting at CRD, but unless someone wants to go "here's a couple hundred grand to go racing" it's a bit hard to validate getting it running again asap when no one really cares about drag racing GT-Rs anymore and they have proven themselves countless times with big street GT-Rs and now some time attack ones too

^^^This.

There are plenty of street GTRs around these days that will do 9s so for this car to come back out to be competitive 7s would be the target, which takes money and plenty of it.

Would be cool to see it on the street again though :)

It was a very cool car

I dont see why it couldnt be thrown back together and let tge guys have fun on Wednesday nights

Its drag racing there will always be someone with more money, more power etc.

Look at the door slammer guys. Half of them turn up without hope of making the 16 let alonr winning. But they still show up. Have fun and go home with a grin .

It must be aweful expensive though and I cant even afford a gtr let alone a quick one lol

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
