Ill get one... Im just sitting back and waiting for the second hand/grey imports ones to come through...

I will pay up to 70k max for one... So I guess ill be waiting til 2011 maybe 2012... But thats ok as I can wait...

Rent - S$9,300 per month. :) Pint of beer S$18 :D Almost makes the asking price for a GTR cheap S$288,000

Not saying rent isnt expensive, but you certainly dont need 9grand+ to get good accomodation here! You can get yourself a sweet resort style condo with full facilities for half that, and depending on location even cheaper. (On the other side of the coin you can pay over 15grand for a relatively small place in a fancy area)

The beer, depending on location, so far i havent had to pay S$18 :)

the low tax here is awesome, not sure if ill be able to go back to Aus tax rate! only drawback for me is the lack of cheap import sports cars!

Anyway back on topic,

Whilst i think that the GTR is cheap for what it does, 150+grand is still a lot of money in the majority of peoples books. Picking up a clean 3-5yr old example should represent some awesome supercar buying opportunity!

Well living in Japan might mean you can get a GT-R cheap but on the flip side you also have to pay $47 for an apple.

So it's not all roses.

LOL, that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make...

Roses are more expensive than apples btw...

Im going to come out of a light hibernation and throw in what i believe to be a well educated opinion.

There is no reason for anyone - not a single f**king soul - in the continent of Australia to complain about the R35, and the fact it is being delivered to Australia, in any way shape or form.

You should all be feeling extremely fortunate its going there at all. This bullshit talk about spec and blah blah colour options blah blah bose sound system is too heavy blah blah is so whiney its not funny. Australia and all its "enthusiasts" have whinged long enough for Nissan to warrant the R35 to be released there and instead of cheering and aplauding your own bloody efforts, instead youre complaining about what you will and wont get!

FFS, some of you make me physically and mentally distraught....

Ok..this is what i'm doing but it's a secret ok guys.

When the container comes over from Japan...i'm gonna steal it straight off the boat..

I got hook ups with everything, from the time and date it comes in, to the trucks i'm gonna use to carry the containers.....lol.

Dang...my father even owns a petrol station to run the god dam thing forever...SWEEEET!!

I'll be taking deposits in the next week or two..i'll keep u guys posted..

LCT should start from 150k, not 57k, it's really stupid. Labor still want to appeal and push it through. Let's hope that doesn't happen. LCT in general is stupid.

If the government was serious about this, they'd apply the same tax to motorbikes over $20,000, and pushbikes over $1,000, and any other transport mode that was considered a luxury. I think they are just discriminating against specific vehicles [and I ride a motorbike].

One thing I will say, the LCT at 57K is stupid. A farmer will spend that on a bl00dy 4wd ute, a basic trayback Landcruiser is around $53k, add a winch, bullbar towbar, and wide wheels [for better load spread on soft paddocks] - all essential acessories for work vehicles - and your over $57K. And we haven't started on tipper tray's or seats, or heavy suspension kits or other stuff. We use tray back Landcruisers with canopies and GVM kits, bullbar, towbar, winch, driving lights, boat racks etc for our work and we aren't looking at any luxury.

LCT should start from at least $100K, and why should it be a flat tax, why not a progressive scaled or teired tax.

And a GTR - I'm still buying lottery tickets..................I was going to use them for my retirement plan, but some things are just more important than retirement.

yeah bloody good news!

i can't believe they still reckon a luxury car is 57k plus

It all depends on where you buy and own the car though doesnt it?

I honestly cant believe what the average car costs in Oz...

57k in the US would get you a luxo...same in Japan...

the low tax here is awesome, not sure if ill be able to go back to Aus tax rate! only drawback for me is the lack of cheap import sports cars!

You forget the other drawbacks: there is like only 100kms of freeway and if you cross into Malaysia for a decent drive expect surprise chickens

and other things in the road, malay customs find any excuse to shake you down, and so do malay cops. Did the bridge fix the traffic? I remember

queuing for an hour in either direction to leave / return.

Most of the busy parts are behind a congestion zone pricing system.

The traffic is bad, unless you want to drive aimlessly in the small hours.

the only point of having a cool car is to drive it the 5 minutes from your condo to one of the dozen or so western hotels, so you can double check

that the car is still nice enough for the valet guys to leave out front. I think it is possibly the worst country in the world for a car enthusiast to

live in. any prestige cars are 100% trinkets for denoting relative wealth levels: thats all.

true memory: some kid in an mr2 once tried to chase me at 7am, and 360'd at the merlion, blocking the bridge. Clogged up the entire morning

commute for over an hour. I didn't even notice until my colleagues arriving late told me of the fuss and i realized why he had suddenly vanished

from my mirror :)

If I had the ability to write it off through business hell yeah.. :thanks:

70+k without writing it off some how via business I just couldn't bring myself to do.

Has any R35 imported into Australia been road registered yet?

Who? When? where?

Can we start a thread to list them please?

Apparently so.. Keir has recently landed his here in SA. Going by his previous efforts with his 8sec R32 3ltr GTR it will be interesting to see how far he pushes the 35.

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wi...tr-t235927.html

In 6/7 years when the grey imported ones have become a little cheaper ill be able to afford one.

If only i was in SA....would love to sit in it etc

Nissan are selling them here, as long as its before the cutoff - that means NO grey import

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
