Hi fellas,

Hope everyone is well - not long now till the start of your season whilst ours draws to a close here in the UK.

Well after 11 8.1's this year finally after some further mods we have cracked the 7's & have Europes first ever 7 sec skyline :(

Ran at the weekend & completed 3 runs in total & all 7's

1st 7.93 @ 171

2nd 7.78 @ 172

3rd 7.75 @ 175

After all the hard work & learning this year i'm over the moon :D

First 2 runs were at 2 bar boost & the third at 2.2, 3rd would have been quicker if i had changed gear better.

We run again next week in our last official competition of the year, we have more boost to go yet & could connect nos up (but not so sure we will until next year) so may get those times down a bit further still.

Here's some piccies from the weekend

Getting there bit by bit & just hope we keep the consistency & reliability going which we have had all year next year.

cheers

John

WOOOHOOOO!!!!

Mate, that is a truly outstanding effort and very well deserved/earned.

Congratulations and don't forget to let us know how you get on in competition. What are some of the vehicles in your class?

Cheers Adrian mate

This weekend we crossed back over to main stream racing & took part in super pro ET (bracket dial in racing 6.99 - 8.99 secs)

next week back to Jap racing & heads up :(

WOOOHOOOO!!!!

well done guys, numbers falling consistently now and the more data collected means its ony going to go quicker. once you get the chassis sorted and keep those front wheels on the track it will only go faster again.

Bring on the 7.0s

thanks guys & as soon as we saw 7's on the board it makes it feel worth all the time, effort & grief :P

Quick vid here (2nd run in qualifying, before anyone gives me grief about reaction times it was only qualifying :laughing-smiley-014: )

Have some better quality ones being put together over the next couple of weeks.

This weekends competition is not looking good weatherwise at the moment which is a real pain as may well be the last opportunity we get to run on a decent track surface before winter is here but there's always next year.

I personally 100% want to bring this car to Oz for the Perth & Sydney Summer Nationals & can guarantee we will in 2010. I'm glad now we didn't bring it over this year as it was just to soon & we had far to much work to do & things to learn & same story next year where the car will be developed a lot lot further.

When we do bring it over in 2010 i want it to be running serious consistent times so it's worth the trip & also something for you to see. Would be amazing if when we bring it over then we could run with the serious Aus/NZ cars at the same meets.

Thanks

John

Awesome result mate. It will be interesting to see where it ends.

Funny thing about this thread, I actually just finished watching the animated movie "cars" before I logged in, The front of your skyline looks straight from the movie.

well bugger

surprise surprise crap weather hits another event :)

can't believe we havnt got webbed feet & webbed hands in the Uk with the amount of bloody rain we see :(

No racing at all weekend just gone as inches & i mean inches of rain over the weekend flooded the pod so i reckon that's us for this year.

1 more trip out for the car in November at santa pods end of season closing down fireworks day/night but very doubtful we will run quick times in November as will be pretty cold here unless we strike it lucky.

As soon as that's over back to the drawing board to think up some ideas to get more out of the old girl for next year.

Hope you fellas have a great & safe season & be great to see The Godzilla Motorsports 32 get quicker & also see Reece move the 32 forward again as competition really drives everything forward.

Good luck Adrian - be great to see you hit some good times mate.

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
