yeah, i'm eagerly awaiting my weeks fuel usage...

so far i have driven a normal 50 k's ( not including the 3/4 tank i used on the dyno and "testing":) ) and the guage is still above full :ermm:

Nice results :ermm:

Excuse the ignorance, I haven't bothered to read anything about this fuel...

but 85% ethanol? People were pissing and moaning about 5-10% ethanol destroying fuel systems etc (I personally ran V-power racing for a period of time with no issues, and 1 tank of 100RON United which I think has ethanol as well, with no issues) but 85%?

What are the pros/cons of it?

Might be worth looking into it, especially if its available in Hoppers (where I live) and with a laptop/datalogit to swap between maps for 98 and E85...

Well done mate, 311 kw aint nothing to be sneezed at. Bet it feels good on the road. E85 is good stuff thats for sure.

yeah, it's an awesome drive now.... if i had tyres with some form of tread remaining it would be perfect... :ermm:

are u buying it in jerry cans to store it at home?

or cos you cant easily change maps yet?

you would be able to work out the mathematics so that you could use

the temp ign and inj adjustments on the hand controller

as a "drop down" method to run 98 penis fuel

so the tune would be on e85

then when you cant get e85 dial in some correction on the temp adjust (is lost when car is powered off)

and it should be reasonable. saves laptop / datalogit

let us know re fuel economy

im keen to try it too on std turbo

not expecting more power

but happy to dial in more timing and make the engine scream

i already run near 50deg timing on light load so more is good if possible

if you send me your before and after maps

i could translate it into

hand controller steps

so you wouldnt need datalogit map switch

if you cant find 85

i wouldnt use it as a permentant measuer (annoying each time)

but as a stop gap, should be fine

hey Paul, I run the fuel daily and find i'm useing around 18 litres per 100 vs 14 on pulp, we had a e85 shortage for 2 weeks and had too use pulp and i just let the o2 sensor trim it, ran fine, couldnt be bothered changeing maps knowing e85 would be available next day or so but turned into 2 weeks bloody bloody servo!

thanx heaps for the offer paul, but my datalogit is only a couple of weeks off anyway :ermm:

i'll be watching the economy like a hawk and be reporting here asap :)

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
