Snowy/Bris, what program are you using for editing the POV film? Do you have to convert them to .wmv files first? Mine is not cooperating...

Also, with the fuel cut did it just stop the car completely and require a re-start, or did it regain power again after a while? Seems quite dangerous to just be rolling around!

In your defence Snowy you can clearly hear and see that your foot was on the accelerator and brake at the same time. For that to happen on the limit would alway result in an off. Having driven one of those before I know that without race shoes you have no hope of hitting the peddles right.

I once borrowed the old mans Lancia fulvia sport to go to basketball in... I had chunky bball boots on and after failing to stop at an intersection because I stood on all 3 peddles at the same time I went back home to get some better footwear... that was scary enough I can't imagine doing that at Spa in a Caterham... your a brave man

it's nice having peddles really close but only when you've got the right shoes on!

Dane I just use Windows Movie Maker to edit mine, very easy, just open it up and drag the file in.

It's strange, the laptop is a few months old and has plenty of everything to spare... must just not like it for some reason. It's a real pain! I'm going to blame Vista :P

Actually - the lappy that turns the pictures pink runs Vista. I've also tried using Adobe Premier Pro on that lappy and it imports the video's upside down! (Go figure).

This lappy works fine and its not as powerful as that other one - but it runs XP. So....

Hmmmm, who knows then??! I definitely think it's a vista thing though, it's very glitchy and gives me heaps fo grief. I'll try and run it on my other old laptop and see if it works.

Out of curiosity, how much were the R400's to hire at SPA? And are you being re-converted to RWD after all this AWD cheating?? :P

Spa wasn't cheap - it was basically $6K for the car and 2 days of track time (So it was $3K ea.) - but which included all the fuel, tyres (we went through 2 sets of front Avon Race tyres in the 2 days and the set of rears were ready to be tossed as well!) and all the coffee, cordial and biscuits you could manage. It was open pit from 9am - 6pm both days and you could do as many laps as you liked. (Although they did ask we try and keep it to 40mins / hour to give the car a rest).

You could do it with 4 of you and still get more than enough track time - we sat around doing nothing for a good part of the time simply because it was 35degs so we were exhausted.

That doesn't seem like too bad of a deal considering the tyres/fuel etc in a properly quick car like the R400, it's actually quite good if you were to spread it over a few more people. Pity about the airfare to Europe :P

I reckon that's pretty fair. $1500 per day for each of you. that's a lot of track time. hey a single set of RE55s costs more than that and to use 'em you still need a car and a track. so putting it thaty way it looks good. :P

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
