I use ETM.

One he's local to me.

Two, he's always looked after me, and never bullshits.

Thirdly, I currently do have a 6BOOST manifold on the car, and the welds from ETM are so much nicer. As Kyle tends to finish you get "holes" in the welding... Not an actual hole, but a weak point... ETM manifolds, you don't.

where is a pic of this new ETM 100 series design which stops boost creep? would be interested to see, however the website seems a little light on detail

I don't think the new design would be rocket science. A flick through Maxiumum Boost will show you having a wastegate come off the collector at 90 degrees to high speed gas flow is one of the poorer ways of effective wastegating. Simply any shallower angle would be an improvement. Hence why when I ordered my 6Boost manifold (before I bought the Full-Race item) - I requested it be made without any wastegate provision - so that I could customise the wastegate position and angle.

I dream about your Full Race manifold......

Can you ETM guys post some pics of your manifolds and inside the collectors, I would really appreciate it. Both the manifolds look good but it's nice to hear feedback from buyers.

Here's a post I made in my build thread ages ago.

Picked up the new manifold and modified exhaust housing today. Both the manifold and exhaust housing have been coated with the latter being modified to accept the 50mm Turbosmart Pro Gate. They look sensational. The collector design, the quality of the welding and the coating are all great. Leigh from Extreme Turbo Manifolds does exceptional work! Couldn't be happier!!!

If it has this plate, it rocks!

Beat that!

yeh...best way to control boost...straight off the exhaust housing like 2rismos pic displays...i did the same mod to my road car with the standard cast manifold and again on our race car with kyles manifold. Fixes boost creep everytime! Some people question if it has an impact on response because your disrupting the flow in the housing, but having had both setups (off manifold collector and exhaust housing) several times, there is no noticeable difference on track.

Both make very good parts.

Neither of them invented the merged collector.

I was making merged collector manifolds and merged collector split pulse manifolds 10 years ago and I didn't invent the merged collector either.

I have seen pics of turbo setups from back in the 70's with merged collector manifolds.

I am yet to see either of them do a true split pulse manifold. That’s not to say they are not making them I just haven’t seen one from them yet.

By true split pulse manifold I mean all exhaust gasses from opposing cylinders kept separate all the way to the turbine and wastegate, or two wastegates used.

If they don't make them yet ask them too. They both have the ability.

Both ETM and 6Boost do true split pulse manifolds.

Has anyone used one of their single low mount manifolds? interested to see how they look...

this is my 6 boost lowmount manifold, i just managed to mount the gt35 with minor mods to the engine mount on my 33

the only problem that i noticed was that the manifold lost the blackness it has when first bought and it is now a greyish colour

DSCF2006.jpg

how much do both of these manifolds retail for ?

the best manifold i have ever seen in my life is of a r31gtsr only 400 made lobster style my mate has 1 it is a piece of ART Marky at E.T wanted to make them but after playing with it recons the collector is just not possible.

Sounds far superior to any 6boost and other no name manifolds i have ever heard !

honestly 6boost and ETM are probably the 2 best known dedicated manifold builders in aus and both make great product. I have more first hand experience with 6 boost manifolds but I don't have anything bad to say about ETMs ones either. call them both and see which one you like the sound of most. or maybe just flip a coin. you will get a good result out of either one.

    • Hi, i’m making a rb25det coil loom for Vag short coil. Can anybody tell me which Ecu signal wire belong to coil number 1 and 2,3,4,5,6? The connecting switch in above pic is 8 wire i think white is for +12v and black for earth.
    • Was there ever a model of the Stagea m35 that didnt have a badge on the grill? I thought I saw that somewhere, some aero edition or something? I cant find it again? davemoto
    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
