My cock envy gauge is going ballistic :(

you now have monies to buy a hooker to fix that.

I've put a resnobly light flywheel/clutch combo on, exedy hyper singe. weighs 12.5kg vs the std 18kg. I didn't get a clutch or flywheel with the car, so it ended up costing me only slighly more to get a good new one instead of hunting a flywheel down, and getting a sports clutch.

the rev limiter will be just past when the hydro lifters are going NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

it's all well and good to have big hp. but at the end of the day, we are still stuck on 8" rims, and you can only put so much power to the ground through them.

so 10,000rpm then :D SSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK haha

who did crinkle paint?!? any ideas on what product was used? I want to do mine red ;)

Progress has slowed due to me being a lazy bugger and ben taking all week to change the seat rails.

im currently on wires and their not overly photogenic but i will have some cool things done by the end of the weekend one hopes.

oh and its bens birthday today. he turned 14.

looks like the sau pics are dead atm. But I got the front rail finished, Damo pissed the neighers off by grinding after dark, so it restricted what i could do after work. But i'm happy with how it's ended up, I had to cut a section out of the floor, and weld a new reshaped bit in to get the seat to sit abit lower.

I also have a family friend who is a panel beater, who cut the rust out of the rear wheel arches (under the pods/water catchers)

using a lincon 170a mig. it's dad's and he loves gas-less wire, so it sprays shit everywhere. but and the end of the day it only has to be strong, and it is.

I wish i new how to tig (or mig neatly :) ), and had a tig to weld with, cause thin panels with a mig are a bitch.

My dad's got a pretty rad welder that can do just about anything, stainless, alloy etc. It a big industrial one (about a metre tall) he bought from a shipbuilder that went bust.

Ive never used it though cos i was a shit welder in high school.

It can do the most delicate of welds right through to to fattest bits of BHP's finest

Reckon it could weld ya rib back together cock?

yeah i've heard the gasless mig's are pretty cacky. who wants to pay the leasing fee for a bottle of argon? but you can get disposable bottles cheap as, so im tossing up wether to get a tig or a mig now. atm ive only got a 170amp cig transarc... pretty good, but not really great for the car.

welding al foil, thats mad.

anywho...

dumb thing is that dad has an argon bottle, he just hates hooking it up, and he didn't want me to swap the wire out. But still holds at the end of the day, just sprays like a mofo, which isn't fun when your under the car, and molton metal is raining on you.

    • Hello Liam - HA - somewhere in flies - possibly I have an update, but I have been so busy, projects have taken a back seat to getting business back on track.  I will let you know the outcome, but I think I am going to go for the 8HP,  CHEERS.  ELVIS
    • Thanks Joshuaho96, yes - as someone else also suggested, the 8HP seems the 'smart choice' - HA - and ZERO to do with cost, but I am sure 8 speeds will be better than 6 speeds - HA - maybe.  I will purchase a new 8HP,  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Nobody said anything about getting a "...cheap Falcon box..."- it was JUST a question about a specific transmission.  And YOU may have a problem with not enough $ - HA - I do NOT - so please keep your comments like you are some financial guru to yourself.  BUT - much appreciated re the cost of a new 8HP and I twill probably be the way I go.  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
    • There is an ABS pump and a few solenoids. You could trigger the front/rear solenoids with a pressure bleeder attached with a Consult 2.
