if someone can work it out ill give them a prize.

a few hints.

old vs new graph. both e85 same turbo. same inlet.

less boost than last time.

just a wrecker bottom end, havn't broken the genuine nissan seal

this post says its a standard bottom end, pistons in the previous pictures of the bottom end look fairly standard and arent dome tops as i would expect in a high comp bottom end build.

no signs of a VCT mod that i can see (your "b-cam" was discussed before)

pictures of the head look to me like it has had a reasonable whack of meat taken off the bottom of it. if the car is running corn juice or race fuel only im thinking even higher than 10:1 11-12?

if thats not it at the moment im not sure what else it could be to give that big of a change

Looks like i'm going to put a bigger oil pump on. The head sounds like a box of hammers again, seems the restictor is too small for a hydro head. I've been told more oil pressure should fix it

You are all wrong. Us loyal to the RB20 know that if you have problems with the RB20 in your car....and you chose to replace it with another wrecker RB20....the Nissan gods ensure that the motor you get from a wrecker for $400 is special and will outperform the original engine. Its a proven formula. You stay loyal to the RB20....then there is an engine in a wrecker waiting for a new dad and the opportunity to give its all for its faithful owner.

ha you did you home work.

we initaly asumed that the rb20de with a comp ratio of 10.2:1 was all in the bottom end. but its all in the head. the pic of the head has had no major machining just a quick plane.

one of the local circuit guys has just had a det head machined to the equivilent to bens, while it has been readdembled it hasent been ran yet. so there seems to be no problems shaving a bit of the heads.

Yeh the RS500 manifold comes with ability to run 8 injectors and also runs a different elbow between plenum and throttle body. I am trying to hunt down the throttle body and elbow for mine now but cheapest I can find is $9-- :(

Where are you sourcing gears for the oil pump?

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
