thanks guys I'm really happy about how it went, especially after the troubles I had last weekend.

huge congrats to Stu in coming 1st in modified too, he had to fight all weekend right until the last session to win the class, and I can tell you he had absolutely nothing left in that car. The GTR that came 2nd was extremely well prepared and the driver had done some laps around there prior, so for Stu to win there on his first time down there is a great effort.

actually it was a great weekend for dattos all around, there was a top turnout and results from most of the guys (and only 1 with real problems, borken motor after pulling 2nd in turn 1 at 160+). And also great work from Scott in the minetti to be only 1 second off the outright win against a full on F3 car.

thanks to everyone that helped me out this weekend and last - kel, neil, tektrader69, letmedrive and dad and all the sau vic guys that dropped by

Well done Duncan, as I said on the day 1:48's is extremely quick for a car with so many limitations, you would have been pushing it to the limit that's for sure. Looks like you didn't get a good run after the vibration appeared, oh well gotta be ecstatic with the result anyway. Was nice to meet you and Kel!!! :D

Stu's effort is phenomenal, 1:43.0 with a standard radiator!!!!! :P

Surely there would have been only one lap of full throttle, amazing result regardless....

Well I may not have placed but what a great weekend. Big thanks has to go to Graham,,,my wifey,,,Duncan,,,Kelly,,,Mark and Richard Fricker.

Graham what can I say but a Massive THANK YOU,,,putting us up in a great house and all your work over the weekend.

Great to meet all you Vic guys,,,SAU sure is a cool place to be.

What about that track,,,sensational !!!. I am in love with it. Everything about the joint was bloody great. I still can't beleive how long I'm flat in 6th going down the straight,,,in the end I wasn't braking for turn 1 just off the throttle and back into it. What I need is heaps of laps around there as every session I worked out better lines. I really have to stop listening to you tin-top guys lines,,,I braked way to early all the time.

Thank you PIARC for putting on such a great event.

Bring on next year at Morgan Park.

Neil.

Thanks Duncan and congrats to you too! and Jack and also many others, unkown - that offerred support - had a great weekend, still got time, tyres got a bit saggy, (as most know had braking issues) will be back, once again special thanks to everyone that offered support for a great weekend!!

Will put some braking issues vid's on soon, bought the mediums - next time will bring the bigger bits. :D

PS 32 and 33, in 4 years have never run hot  never more than half if they are good and clean, when in front airs nice and cool!! Go the Dato's, BUT add some air when on the dyno.

And check out Stuart Inwood!!

1:43.03

OMG.

Insane time, well done Stuart!

Thanks Duncan, OMG, wait till you see my vids - turn 1 and 4

You thought turn 1 at EC was a moment haha!

Shame you didnt make it - but word of advise when you go - take the big one's!!

But seriously turn one is easy its just the other 599 corners you gotta get right (and watch out for the chooks over the back at hay shed - they like a birds eye view) Anyway, must say competitors / officials / walk abouts - were great, put on your must do list.

The fat whale as M & M affectionately call the R33, last five starts five records - Aussie Hillcimb Champ & fastest tintop (Haunted Hills, Vic Nov09), Muslce Car Champ (OP Aug 09), Fosc, also EC & OP South track record - class win at Aussie Supersprint PI, Outright - 2nd TTop - common 2010!! :P

Hey Stuart,

I meet you at Bathurst speed weekend last year, you helped out with my blown out tyre on the trailer thanks again.

Nice new toy mate it does not stand out as much as the R32 did  , it is good to someone driving the whales hard, thumbs up.

I hope to see the R33 some where next year.

Ryan

Great year for you by the way mate,,,well done

Here 2 older pics I took at Grafton's Hillclimb maybe 2 years ago.

Neil.

Turn 1 - doesn't look much but at 300 I am telling you it was, I've got Porche brakes didnt seem to work as good on mine though maybe a couple of k's too fast - bit keen - and yes I did appologise!

Thanks for the pics on the R32, Karen ran it at the December Speed weekend at Bathurst on the weekend and it looks and goes better than ever! The 32 and 33 are sleeping in the same shed - cant wait for my 65 - LOL.

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
