Sau Nsw Oran Park South Track Driver Training Day

Recommended Posts

Well everybody It's OFFICAL.

We are having one last run on this most fantastic track,,,if you think oh,,,it's only the short track,,,think again,,,turn one and the setting up of 2 and 3 will put a massive smile on your dial when you get it right.

Please have a good read of the Sup Regs,,,they will tell you almost everything you need to know. Wondering why I did it this way with a pdf file,,,easy. This is how it's done when you start racing and I'm sort of hoping SAU will find a young driver that can go on to bigger and better things.

Trackwise are running the day,,,so that means we have Garry Baxter,,,he's currently a front running V8 ute driver and his team of professonal driver trainers will be in attendance. While we have some great drivers within our ranks,,,we are actually paying these guys,,,so work them HARD. Someone should have them in their car every session ALL day. Thats not to say you don't have the SAU boys,,our ranks include successful circuit racers/supersprinters/hillclimbers/maybe even a DA drifter and some of us that have been doing this stuff for years.

This day is for everybody,,,from the most track hardy to girls or guys that just want to have some fun on a race track.

Please up-load these and if you have any questions,,,post them or PM me.

See that, everyone? Read it, then read it again for maximum impact!

This will be an awesome day, and well worth the $200 even if there weren't professionals on hand to provide training, so this is a BARGAIN!

Count me in please!

In fo sure! With or without the nugget..... maybe good excuse to throw the racing slicks on if they dont sell ;) If not, usual hand up for helping and showing nuggetesq driver habits :(

no no no, ive already targeted the blue nugget.......it has to be there or ill get lost.

:P Im sure you will be right champ... but will happily give you a blue nugget to chase

If anybody is concerned about noise,,,It's simple,,,don't have a screamer pointing out of your sill panel,,,if indeed you run a screamer have it pointing down which I would expect everyone does anyway. Stuart's V8 Skyline is no way going to pop any Db meter,,,not in a million years,,If in fact there will be one.

Remember this day is a Sunday with a public holiday on the Monday making everybodies life easier.

Neil.

arghhhh i'm desperately trying to change my schedule on my calander to be there. fingures crossed it doesnt sell out before i know if i can go...

I took the weekend off but Dentist this morning ate my track money,

So i'm out, never got to run OP so i guess i dunno what i missed..

Its a shame it was so close to where i live.

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
