Volunteer! Then stay Saturday night.

Seriously. Volunteering gets you the best seats to watch, plus you can get free spins in peoples cars after the battles are over (bring a helmet, or borrow on the day).

Just so we are clear its free spins as a passenger.

That's a good link mate! I've never been able to allow a proper cure time coz I don't have enough tyres to keep racing on the first day.

+1 for this, I managed this for my re55's and now they stick like s**t.

Use a practice day to get them up to temp, then "practice" the rest of the day on your roadies.

3. Vehicles

• Cars presented to the scrutineer not ready for competition will be denied entry to the event.

• Cars must be considered ‘roadworthy’ and will be subjected to an examination.(Scrutineering)

• Tyres must be roadworthy to enter the road events on the DECA highway circuit.

• Seatbelts must be fitted to the vehicle and must comply with the current Australian Standards.

• All loose objects must be removed from the vehicle

• Tyres other than designated road tyres (Slicks) may be used and times will be recorded but you will not be eligible

for any awards

• All vehicles must be equipped with a minimum 900gram fire extinguisher securely mounted inside the vehicle with a

metal bracket. Extinguishers must comply with the Australian Standard – AS 1841 and not be more than five years

old.

If it is screwed in or cable tied it will not pass. It must be bolted in.

If "loose" objects are defined as anything that is not bolted in, what about items that are in the boot such as a stereo? I have gear that is screwed in, so does that mean this must come out as well? Thanks.

If it's very well mounted it may be ok. I would take it out regardless.

If not done already can you please group us guys.... If it's not too late.

Thanks Russman,

I'll take it out just to be sure. My idea of well mounted may differ from the opinion of the scrutineer's . My intent was to run the car in full street trim where possible so that I get a realistic idea of how the car handles for once it's back on the road.

Don't worry. A 10kg subwoofer won't drastically upset you're handling.

Hah, you should see Gary Swift's Soarer. Got enough subs, amps, party speakers and lights in the boot to out weigh the engine.
