How far over was he?

I got pulled over yesterday.. at 11.45am for a breath test, its so early in the morning, who's going to have alcohol in their blood?

And it was just down the road from where i live, now, who are they planning to catch if they're parked at such a secluded spot?

With saying that i have been pulled over for a breath test at 8:15am while i was on my way to work on a wedensday.

Charles, I've been through spaghetti junction twice where they've blocked off every direction before. Then people turn in to where Hungry Jacks is and there's cops waiting in there too to get the ones trying to avoid them haha.

Last night on Fitzsimmons Lane just near the apple peel, there was a booze bus and they were stopping everyone, not letting cars through.. just letting it back up so everyone had to get tested.

I was following behind a P plater in a VZ ute and Mercedes and as we got to the apple peel roundabout, they saw the flashing lights ahead. The ute pulled in to the bus stop at the Shell and the Mercedes did a u-turn.

I kept watching the mirrors and undercovers came out of the new carwash there and were on them in seconds.

Couldn't stop laughing haha.

There were plenty of cars already parked at the booze bus, shows how many stupid people there are around my area :D

As I was waiting to go after being tested, the car at the front of the queue was being questioned so I asked the cop how long they'd been set up there for since there were so many cars already caught. She told me 8pm so 6 hours already and they were going to be there until 4am.. long night standing there!

Does anyone know how these "new" speed detectors pinpoint which car is actually speeding when the cop is driving too?

If it's being used in a busy area like Knox and there's a bunch of cars driving, how can they be sure which one the radar picked up?

I'm from the same area and keep seeing unmarked and marked cop cars on reynolds road. Very easy to creep over 70kph there. I even saw an unmarked toyota kluger!

Yeah, they park in the U-turn lane and laser you.

Unmarked and marked, Commodores and Fords.

yerp, 6 months cancellation and $350. their getting tougher!

Its always been like that, all breath testers are data logged, if they go back to the bus/station and there was 3 readings over .05 but only 2 people booked they have to explain why the third was not booked.

i dont think ill eva drive my skyline down to melb lol from what you guys are saying we have it very easy down here.

Nah! I got picked up by a cop in Warnambool for doing a U-turn over double lines from a parked position at 12am - with not another car in sight (except for the cop car lurking in his hiding spot). Granted he did make a nice point about me being "not from around here", so he might've treated a local such as yourself with a bit more discretion lol.

Same here. I'm keeping my car in good old WA. I only remember seeing about 1 or 2 cop cars last month...

Seen heaps of booze busses near me last couple of weeks.

Also random style setups (3-4 divvy vans) around 10am and only being setup for an hour or two if that.

Always getting the few here/there.

Usually people after a big night that don't think they are over, but are, is what i would imagine they would get the most of.

I know a few people that have been done the next day unsuspectingly after a big night.

    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
    • What Duncan said sounds right. Also, it looks like they only have the driver's mat. Not the rest. Because looking at the diagram: KG4911 is just the mat for the driver. KG4900 is the full set if I'm not mistaken and discontinued.   But, it looks like they may still have the full set for the manual S2. Might be worth checking for the other models as well as they seem slightly different. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6649-rb25det/misc/G49 Man, I'm tempted.
    • I dunno about that as a blanket statement. Pitwork is Nissan's "Nissan genuine" thing, and for stuff like timing belts, I have found them to be excellent. Of course, for things like oil filters, you always use proper trusted brands anyway, not whatever the OEM has taken to using.
    • Ahhhh... If you were putting 12V to the led in there, that's likely made it very unhappy. Chances are how you put power, was 12V across an LED that's meant to only have about 20mA through it at peak, and a forward voltage of about 1.8 to 2.4 volts. That circuit is likely only a 3V3 circuit, and will have a resistor in series with the led too. That's my guesstimate on that light, without having touched one.
