buying used wheels is all about having cold hard cash on hand and being in the right place at the right time, which takes patience.

put an offer on the importmonster wheels, if they come back with a no, move on.

there's these... 19X10.5 +21 which would be sweet as

600x450-2010033000031.jpg

and these:

18x10 +12 Gram Lights 57F-PRO

no price on those, just bid as much as you can afford minus shipping costs.

Ah yeah, true that and the quiet ones would be the Oval shape mufflers yeah...

I keep remembering Juliette's exhaust on her R34 GTT and it's pretty much silent.

:P

I wouldn't go so far as to say silent, but very quiet inside the car and not too loud outside the car. At idle it'd almost be as quiet as stock behind the car. I removed the big resonator/second muffler in the middle of the exhaust due to issues with ground clearance and it made pretty much no difference.

It's a full 3" stainless steel Fujitsubo turbo-back, but unsure on which model.

I remember when I bought my first 3" cat back for the 33....Me, Justin and James fitted it up at James' work, started the car and were instantly devastated...it was so quiet lol

Sold it to GTRGeoff not long after and bought a new one, much louder...

Then went de-cat at the same time as the rebuild/turbo upgrade...Hadn't driven the car for a few months....I remember picking it up at RE, left RE later that night....had the windows down and the stereo off.....was deafening and sounded insane (combination of new turbo/de-cat/ and not having driven it for so long)

After a while you get used to it, obviously it's still as loud, but didn't seem that way to me.

^^ I too remember when I put my BLITZ cat back on for Auto Salon and fuck it was loud!

I think it's a 3" or 3.5" with a 4.5" outlet pipe.

Just on idle it droned the hell out of me.

:P

Yeah well I am still yet to put my Veilside cat back on and it's a 3" with a 3.5" out pipe and is stainless steel.

I want to keep it quiet as possible.

But want to save for a new radiator 1st and Brembo Calipers are on the 'to do' list + I got suspension and wheel fitting / guard rolling to do on the Rolla...

*sigh* one thing at a time...

:)

anyone had any experience with the import monster yahoo japan thing? where you can search through there site and buy etc?

sure have, ive bought a r34 front lip and then bought 3 brand new defi gauges in a bundle which including shipping was still cheaper than buying 3 anywhere in australia. and i was more than happy, it was a very easy process. :P

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
