Z4 sucks unless its the hardtop ones even then needs to b an M or something.

They suck for space too boot doesn't exist and a4s are just nasty unless it's te new model full specced

more for style than performance. not fussed over space either aslong as im comfortable...

Good idea. I was heading down this exact path a while ago...still haven't ruled it out. Have you driven one yet? I was never a huge fan until I test drove one. They feel like a big go kart, nice and tight, very capable feeling and easy to drive, fun little car. Only thing I gave my Skyline over it was the performance factor. Obviously a lot harder to extract that out of the Honda, but they do alright as a standard car. I think S2000s have dropped in value as much as they are going to. Keeping in mind they were an 80k car brand new, you can now pick them up between 20 and 30, it's a bargain. Try and get one with a glass rear window rather than the perspex.

Nah, I haven't driven one, but from what I've heard of people who own them they are great cars to own. I've owned two Honda Preludes and for a front wheel drive, n/a car they are quite fun to drive. I think it's good to see that they are holding their value since you can get a 350z or rx8 for about the same price even though they are both newer. The only thing holding me back is the lack of power but from what I've seen they aren't that slow. I'm getting to the point where I want something that is nicer to drive, more economical, more reliable but still great fun.

Yep, any criticism I've heard about them has usually been from people who haven't driven them, which is just dumb.

Like all Hondas they hold their value well (look at the CRX). And unlike the Z, there is nothing to supersede them, so that's probably another reason. They aren't slugs, just nothing you'd go dragging turbo imports with. I would have thought the 9000rpm engine would have you wringing it to move anywhere, but they have no trouble moving along in the daily traffic. Anyway, like I said, go drive one and see what you think...but I reckon you'll choose one over your Skyline if you don't mind spending the money on a 10-12 year old car.

yea? they look roomier than s2k's and i fit fine in them but i'll check one out and see how it goes

But do you really want to drive a slow car :D I bet when some P plater in a XR6 turbo rocks up next to ya and smokes you off the lights your going to wish you had gotten a GTR, or a M3 or something :P You should totally get a new Ford GS.. absolutely amazing cars for the $$

And yes I've been in a s2k nice cars but seemed a bit slow (in a straight line at least) and too small for my liking.

he/she would only smoke me if i actually raced him/her :) its only a cruiser, if i wanted to smoke cars at the lights i'd get a 3 grand vl turbo and spend the rest on the engine...

im definitely getting an e46 m3 its one of my favourite cars of all time just cant justify spending that kinda cash atm. not going over 30k.

Yeah fair enough, it all comes down to what you actually want from the car just make sure your certain when you decide! Only thing I hate about my car is the age really.

And nah just keeping the R figure I'll just save for a nice cruiser sooner or later and use the R for track / weekend - really loving the Ford GS but saving for a road bike first :P

    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
    • Ok thanks 🙂 I will higly consider this. Any "known" company for a good reviews and experience to send that off? Is that CJ-motor good one? Or go straight to GCG site? I need to use VPN to even find some of those "shops" let alone access them 🙂
    • You can literally put in as much WMI as it takes to quench the combustion totally (and then back it off a little, obviously), and it will keep making more and more power. The power comes from the cooling effect of the water (and the meth) and the extra fuel (the meth, which also has massive octane). It is effectively exactly like running E85. One might be slightly better than the other, but they are damn close. But with either you can lean on the boost or the timing (or both) waaaay more than with just petrol and the results are similar. Here's the first thing I googled for an anecdotal bit of evidence. Can't access the attachment without being a gold member, but it is there for the getting if able to, or searched up elsewise perhaps. https://www.hpacademy.com/forum/general-tuning-discussion/show/wmi-vs-e85/
