that one is defs a 2.8, asking for ya boi vims see if there is a graph for a 6870 on a 26

Think it made over 800rwhp for about 3000rpm which is just silly!

Not sure on a 2.6L, it would shit out power but be fairly laggy. Doesn't vims want a track car?

Id agree with that, some good results happening on 3.0L and 3.2 stroker kits with the 6870 from what im seeing around.

Could be OK for a 2.6 if a small enough rear housing is selected, but it would be a issue up top end when at song. (depending on how hard you pushed it)

Very very nice mate must come on song strong !

6466 is still my fav turbo, seen results range from 500- to over 600kw

No need for dirty big 6870's and 7175's etc

Haven't got it back yet. Imagine it would push towards 600 with another 3-5psi like other results I've seen.

Definitely a good choice for E85.

Do you have a dyno graph or 38psi 2nismo?

I saw a dyno result of a 6870 on a 2.6 today with cams, low 30ish boost, make mid 500'sKw, was as laggy as hell, not very impressed, looked like a slug to drive on the street, nothing then all.

Seen a few like this so far on 2.6's, seems like the 6870 is more towards the extra 15% capacity that a 3.0L or stroker delivers.

Looks like 2.6's run a larger area under the curve on the 6466....

It's a 1100hp turbo on a 2.6L, it was never going to be responsive. I would say my 6262 is right in the sweet spot for a 2.6L non drag application but it's rated at 705hp.

6466 would be a good all rounder for a 2.8L and a 6870 isn't too bad from what I have seen but more towards a drag power band.

I completely agree, 6262 or BW EFR 8374 is the biggest I would go on a real streetcar, up to 3.0L. I wonder how far off the compressor maps the 2.6 is with some of these giants? And I guess I will keep wondering because Precision doesn't need no stinkin' compressor maps!

No point until it has enough injector. Then you'll see the whole thing. Ethanol and a torque converter fill the hole that might otherwise be there with a petrol/manual.

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
