this thing sounds horn! I'm not game to nail it but I can say that by the sound it has it WILL go.

those that have seen it would have noted the camera setup. I had a problem to sort on that this morning.

Thanks chris, the setup is awesome. I can't wait to see the fine tuning.

For those that don't know I got Chris to hook up my video box system and output it to the multifunction display. Works really well and is quite practical for car setup/monitoring at the track.

All the wiring and cameras have been nicely installed and wiring hidden so there is no fuss when heading out to the track or running it on the street.

Currently in hospital with wife for the birth of my 3rd kid and only son (he is a little champ!) so won't be till early august that I get the car back out on the track with some more tweaks, can't wait!

congrats Mark. Bugga, I was looking forward to you dishing some more pain on the porka's tomozz.

Haha! Will have to wait until august Noel. Hopefully we can smash the Porsche cup car times then! Look forward to catching up mate.

  • 2 weeks later...

ok, the car weighs in pretty hefty but htat won't suprise anyone.

1734kg without driver, empty tank and without the rear wing (Aeromotions R2.two about to be installed). this is with the 20 inch HRE's and Bridgstones on them, they are about 0.5-1.0kg per corner lighter than stock.

will see how we go over the few months getting some weight off it!

thanks!

as for what we will be looking to do:

wheels and tyres (track setup already inplace but the above weight is with the street wheels)

seats (remove passenger seat, racetech bucket seat for driver)

Battery

surge tank (purpose two fold - we maxed out the walbro's and allows running less fuel)

stereo, interior trim, carpets

track exhaust setup

CF panels (as the budget allows)

then maybe other creature comforts/doors/dash and sound deadening if I can make the tough decision to go mental or not on such a nice car.

driver will be losing some weight too. about 5kg of sympathy weight gain during the wife's recent pregnancy.

5kg off me probably saves me about $5,000 worth of carbon fibre!

HAhahaha. Too true.

Just loose it with cycling so you have a lower centre of gravity :D

the quality of the bumper looks fantastic, and it definitely looks tough. will see how fitment goes. nice pics showing the ducting either sode of intercooler iopening. hopefully we can make use of these though I suspect things will be tight back there once on!

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
