Trent,

Just like to say good luck at the upcoming Autosalon.

Having seen the process of the engine work im sure you will crack the magic number you are aiming for :)

Thanks Dave,

We were extremely happy to get 1000hp on E85, not sure if that had been done before, but to push it further now we are switching to c16 and more boost. The engine had perfect compression after the power cruise event, so we are happy to step up the power and see how it goes. Obviously the GT4788R is a big turbo, so there should be plenty of room to move from its current power figure. Fingers crossed it performs well at Autosalon. If it does, we will make the trek to Autosalon Sydney with a few more goodies added to it to go even further.

200hp @ 6000rpm, 800hp @ 7000rpm. :whistling:

Holy. Shit. Talk about a serious PUNCH, just a shame it takes so long for it....why so little power at 6000rpm though? I mean my R33 pulls harder than that lol

The engine is designed for serious horsepower, so there has to be a fair number of compromises along the way with the build to ensure it will handle what we plan to do with it. One of those compromises is response. There are many factors, but some of them are comp ratio, camshaft size, camgear tuning, exhaust manifold sizing, the size of the turbo etc. We will be compensating for this with a shot of NOS, to get the car onto boost, hopefully around the 5500rpm mark. That would make the setup a lot more enjoyable, although it is pretty freakin cool when it comes on! BTW, there is no lag between gears. It falls back onto full boost.

I'll bet its fun.

What secret spec cams are you running?

In all seriousness have a look at wizard of nos nitrous products.... they are light years ahead of the holley/NOS- NX- Nitrex etc. I've had first hand experience with Trev's gear on a 1800hp GT40 (plus nitrous) at some standing mile events and I have bought a full direct port set up for my own RB28.

It's exy- but it's well reaserched and tested technology.

Cheers

We were just going to use a Zex wet, single fogger kit which we already have here, controlled by the ECU to turn on and off based on rpm and boost. For spool up, that should be pretty easy to achieve.

    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
    • To re-cap, I bought: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Lsailt-8G-Infiniti-Q50-Q60-2014_1601171829627.html?spm=a2756.trade-list-buyer.0.0.2cd476e9FTIlKE As you can see, if I bought 20 it was $653, but I bought 1 so it was $1,170. I was very tempted to buy 2 and resell 1 at 25% cheaper. @MBS206, I am not sure if they do a Kluger one, here is their list but it might be there under a global model name: http://www.lsailt.com/product/android-interface?page=1 Keep in mind these full android replacements have basically all the bits a phone does (cpu, ram, storage, wifi, bluetooth, usb interfaces) other than a screen (it uses a host), thus the $800+ cost. Android Auto screen mirroring is MUCH cheaper as it's just a cut down shell, input mirroring and output mirroring BTW I also need that "screen off" feature, it is much harder to see wildlife even if a dash is reasonably dark. Both the Fuga and V37 have display off buttons for night use, they just come back on for a second or 3 if you interact with it, eg skip a song.
    • I use FCC car launcher. It has an option for different backgrounds, so instead of turning the screen off you can swipe 'up' to a black screen with no background/icons. (mine has the time on it only). It's kinda nice. Also lets you use gestures to say swipe to go to next song, etc.
