i been looking around , and cant find much info . i have access to some TOMEI PROCAM 252 degrees duration, 9.15mm lift.

ok from my understanding i will get boost a lil earlier , BUT move my power band up more? how much earlier ? and how much is my power band going to move?

my 26 has got forgied pistons but std rods and crank , and no crank collar with a n1 oil pump , so i not a big fan of reving the shit out of it .

of crouse has a pfc , injectors , etc

so what i am asking is it worth putting the cams in? i usually only rev to about 7,500. the cars used for street + drag.

thanks for any info

If you are only revving to 7500rpm, the T04Z really isn't the best turbo choice mate. It'll be making power to 8k without a problem... Given it's a 440rwkw odd turbo.

A GT35 would be better and would move the power band to the lower RPM in much better fashion.

Also it wouldn't require as many rev's or risk the pump given the small drive.

That said and you are determined to keep that turbo for whatever reason... Was there any head work done as part of the rebuild?

i had the same problem using a t04z with a std capacity engine. it use to spool at 4 and pull hard till the limiter at 8.

ive changed the exhaust manifold and wastegate made bout 500rpm diferance.

im changeing the cams and gears to 264 as i dont have any head work either and am expecting about about another 300rpm response. so all in all im hoping to get the spool at about 3 and pull hard till 8.

ill keep you posted,

ps there are many guys i know that have cams and a good tune and they get 20 psi at 4000 rpm.

so it is possible.

but like they said T04z LOVES THE ERBS

its a .8 housing .

and why i was asking about cams is my mate just took a set out of his gtr and don't really want too waste money on this motor as i am building another one, so this one will be taken out of car and sold soonish.

E85 will not bring it on any faster will it?

thanks

depends on the housing you have. i have a t04z and it noses over at about 7650 and by 8 its dropping off fairly quick. difference i have cams/gears head work a 2.8lt bottom end blah blah. cam gear would defo help u can set it to come on earlier. and rev it to 8 it will be fine just dont bounce of the limiter. a mate of mine here has a standard gtr engine with just a set of cams gear and 2540's and revs it to 9 all day. once again just dont bounce it off the limter.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
