Here is a 6266 on a 2.6 on what I assume is the same dyno. Notice it goes to 210km/h so scaling is different.

Assuming 8k limit, @135km/h its on full song at about 5200.

True ebough, if its 7.5 its more like 5k.

I'd be interested to hear what the scaling actually is. I've always liked the efr83s as my next turbo, so if he's let off at 7.5k ish and making that power on a 2.6 I'll be extremely impressed with it.

As with most things I don't think the dyno plot can explain the response of it, but I'm betting its miles better than dash 5s at circa 2 bar. The efr looks like it comes on very smoothly.

Going off what Brett has said. 22 psi was reached at 4300 RPM which on that graph is 105 km/h. It's making just on 300 kW at that point.

stock longblock, small cams and simple setup! this car is probably much more fun than a dynosheet can explain, hopefully Reaper is pleased with the outcome

2jz with twin 6258s -- slightly OT, but too cool not to share:

"Geoff, wanted to keep you in the loop. Re dyno'd the twin 6258 IWG car on E85. Got her to 32-33 psi and ended up with 922 whp and 790 tq at 4600 rpm !! This is a 8.5-1 engine with a stock head and 264 stock base circle cams. Wowzer…I attached the dyno chart with the C16 vs E85 max effort pulls.. So impressed really. Cant wait to fire my car up with 7163’s…Thank you

Eric"

at 4k $ the v-cam are far from ''small simple cams '' IMO :)

Its a type a vcam intake with a type b poncam exhaust so they are pretty small especially considering no porting or anything at all.

5th gear, 285/30/18 rsr's and standard 34 gtr diff ratios with the standard 6 speed

Can't have been 5th gear.

5th @8000rpm is 220. top of 4th is 168km/h. which matches plot exactly.

so full boost@115km/h is 5475rpm.

300kw @ 5000rpm

400kw @ 6000rpm

***ignore above.. bad maths***

whoops! they are, good pickup.. sorry i under calculated the tyre circumference.

using circumference 1973.55mm (https://www.mcgrefer.com/sizeinfo/2853018) for a 285/30/R18

speed peak of dyno of 169km/h in each gear:

3rd (1,685): 8500rpm.

4th: (1,312) 6650rpm

5th: (1.000) 5050rpm

it appears it was done in 3rd.. could an 8500rpm readline be correct?

that means spooling (10psi) around 4500 and full boost (27psi) at 5800rpm

No.

There is a graph from very early on in the tuning process. 10 psi at 4500?

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
