got my alignment done

can someone have a squiz and tell me if the messed anything up?

i asked him to dial in as much caster as possible and he seemed confused and said "i don't think you will notice that on road tyres mate"

Thanks

Were you in Tassie?

H

Faark dude, even with my best squint I can't read that properly, hope someone's got better eyes than me. I'll have 6 beers and come back to it.

Around +5 deg 22" left, +4 deg 41" caster; -1 deg camber and +0.5mm toe was optimal on my old r31, and it needed camber/caster adjustable strut tops to get there; obviously there'll be some differences given the rear can also be aligned. How were they adjusting the caster? Are your caster rods adjustable?

On my NM35 they're not...

I.ll scan it in, didn't realise the quality was so bad

Installed an 8 point earthing kit and, yes, including the transmission bracket when earthing an M35 makes a bit of difference to gear shifts (still nowhere near a shift kit obviously)

dropped mine at the workshop to finally get the revalve kit for the front shocks fitted: hopefully handles like a demon again once I get it back...

All that's left now is to get the roof rail replacement kit fitted and painted, than tidy up the engine bay...

wang some oil down that bore, if it comes up then its the rings orring lands

if it stays down then its in the head which would mean that you don't have to rebuild the block

rnd 3! the first settings on the front are way off cos i changed the steering rack ends

and aster is adjusted with the stock bushes, you only get a tiny bit of adjustment tho

am i lining it up correctly, does that say -16.96 degrees left and +3.02 Degrees right for caster?

yeah, might ask them about that cos it still pulls a tiny bit to the left (no road camber correction) but i guess they only measured the caster on one side?

Here is my suspension settings recipe. You obviously can't get this amount of castor without adjustable arms so i have adjustable castor arms and adjustable rear camber arms. Can't afford the front camber adjusters at this point. You can get a small amount of adjustment with eccentrtic bushes. The value of lots of castor is straight line stability at high speed. If you can't get as much as you want you want them at maximum and then back off rhs to 1/4 degree less than lhs.

Nissan Stagea RS4T

Front

Caster Left positive 6 degrees

Right positive 5.75 degrees

Camber Left 1.0 degree negative

Right 1.0 degree negative

Toe in Left zero

Right zero

Rear

Camber Left negative 0.5 degrees

Right negative 0.5 degrees

Toe in Left minus 2mm

Right minus 2mm

yeah, might ask them about that cos it still pulls a tiny bit to the left (no road camber correction) but i guess they only measured the caster on one side?

There has to be an error in the print out. With that much + caster on the left and so little on the right it would be undriveable.

You would probably find your wheel hitting the rear of the wheel arch on the left side and the front of the wheel arch on the right.

Stagea is in the shop getting GPS tracking fitted to compliment the alarm/kill switch/club lock. f**k thieves! :rofl2:

Goes for a dyno tune next week. Aiming for 220-230 awkw from the stock injectors

Then next is Z32 afm and 550cc injectors.

who's fitting up the gps tracking? can ya PM me with a cost, with the amount of imports getting stolen in Adelaide lately, i'd def be keen to get some fitted to my off road stagea!

ready for motor out......1 hours work to remove the whole front of the car....gotta love M35's :)

Good effort! Shit, you dont mess about do you :P Is it repairable, or will you be sourcing a new engine?

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
