All good mate , i wasnt bidding on it , couldnt afford it atm :)

Iain thats actually quite good , because i was going to get that exact same ecu the first time it was auctioned and no one bought it .. for $1250 without + shipping + charges. so you ended up knocking off $125 of the original auction price.

so all in all you did ok.

I was just about to PM Zebra about the E manage Ultimate -stuffed around checking on availability of harness so tooo slow all yours :worship: . Maybe I should offer 50 cents more?

haha those are my exact thoughts Keir! who tunes it?

emanage is easy, might take me 9 hours to get there, but time is cheap to me :worship:

im glad you werent bidding on the ECU mate, i needed it tho :)

got a long list of crap to buy now..........

lets say we have the harness though.. does that equate to the fcon v being an easier tune for the vq25det? or is it more knowledge and testing of the mappings that the tuner would have to know individually regardless?

Im not confident enough atm to invest in one unless someone says it can be done with x tuner for x amount. Unless you want to be the test dummy Gregg!? :D:)

i have however seen the harness advertised in many a yahoo auction for a reasonable price.

Not their best name though, Camp. lol.

The Ultimate will work well with the Nismo I think, are you copying Craig? I hope you learnt from his engine mishap. :)

It was the Impul ECU(doesn't seem to have boost cut ) + blocked off BOV(must have been pushing above 24PSI) + standard fuel pump + standard injectors + no tune all backed up with a H/F turbo with GT30/71 internals that blew mine......... :(:)

Not the Nismo!!!(Soon to be Nismo - EUS).....If I had of had that on I would never have blown it as it has boost cut.

@PetroDola: you would faint if you new how cheap I got my Nismo ECU!

Only the "Universal Harness" is suitable for the VQ25det.

Greddy decided not to make up an engine specific harness for it

Fcon will be much easier to tune for the VQ25det than the eManage as it has a selectable base map in the software which the tuner can then modify as required plus it "dictates" the tune to the engine instead of "modifying" it if you have the V-Pro (so eliminating the stubbornness of our ECU... in theory).

I am confident enough to be the guinea pig for an Fcon install... once I get a little more cash for the car (have to shell out around 3.5k for a slasher atm)

I may know someone... :(

Yes, indeed.

going to take it for a track day and tell us how she goes! sierra stage 1 hey .. sounds like GCG talk

I will do the drags again in the next few weeks when I get time.

Not GCG... Performance Turbo's in Sydney. Really good value IMHO.

From memory. 43mm Compressor wheel and can't remember the exhaust wheel but it is a bit bigger without being silly.

I am seeing around 4psi at 2200rpm so not too laggy.

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
