got a flat today and realised something that never crossed my mind... The bloody M35 space saver wheel does not fit over 350Z brembos! haha very frustrating...

easy fix.....take a rear wheel off put it on the from and the spacer can go on the back....lol....I am pretty sure I have the same problem :(

you guys got space saver wheels ?

ARX eh ? you got cheaped!

What a rip.. i got a 5th alloy with my stockies.. and left that in the boot. sure atessa is going to hate me but hey if its to get me home,

a 17 with a 235 is going to be better than a cheese cutter space saver

although i rememeber reading some dudes taking it to extremes and getting their missus to drive them over 4 spares and changing the lot lol.

That's interesting, I wouldn't have thought there would be room in the wheel well for something much bigger than a space saver

Me neither, unless of course the underfloor storage was removed.

mine has no underfloor storage.. so that explains why theres just a rim sitting there lol

on a bad note , smashed a lm4 rim hard this morning.. on a drain.. hadnt even moved the car 1 foot and took a 1cm chunk out of lip and tyre.. not happy!.. turned the front wheels and reversed straight into it not realising i was next to the drain..and all nice smooth angled curb around it.. no F*&%^#$ room out the front of my house with 4 cars out there and only 1 carport.

arghh.. not having a good day. :P

did go to mtq and get a new actuator for the r33's turbo and took andy's old 100k turbo in and dropped it off for a tear down.

thanks for that andy showed up this morning..and the spacer , champ

yeh im not happy at all as i asked my mate not to park his ute on the grass so i could park the stag there as i dont like to park it anywhere but.. for that exact reason.. soon as it gets parked in the street.. the rims get nailed. :P awell shit happens.. just have to get them fixed.

2nd time in two weeks the rims have been nailed.. same side also.

If you kerb another one mate, you might have to ban yourself from driving the Stag :P .

I just don't park close to suspect gutters anymore, even a parking fine is cheaper than a wheel repair...

My missus is obsessed with doing it, anyone would think they give out prizes for getting the closest! I chip her about it all the time...

yeah was first thing in the morning.. jumped in it to move it from out the front and bang..straight into it.. only got myself to blame for parking so close really.. but yeah going to have to start being alot more carefull.

you know those days when you just shouldnt have gotten out of bed and everything wouldve been cool!

thats me today :P

It's okay Kier, they're only cheapy rims :P

In the first pic, does it say, CAUTION- kerbs may be closer than they appear :P

Just put the R33 wheels on it, and sell them (to me) it'll be heaps less heart ache :P

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
