Where did these "fact" come from?

I don't recall saying anything about why he couldn't pass back markers.

I would love to see him drive the whole race in the same manor he did the second half of it.

The KERS not working radio call came though mid-race, yes, but it was the drive thereafter that was so great to watch.

Not often you see webber that happy

huh! indeed.

It would seem that you have caught me with my pants down haha.

Now I am a little confused though, so you say that because Webber couldn't get past a heap of people at the start when he was on hards with kers - he is rubbish... but when he shreds through the field on softs and without kers, it is all the tyres?

didn't say he was rubbish.

but, since you asked, the passes he made in the second half of the race were against a Lotus Renault on hard tyres, a couple of cars trying to make softs go long on 2 stop strategies, and 1 maybe 2 people desperately conserving fuel to make it to the end of the race. Mark was in the fastest car on the grid and on the best, newest rubber anyone in that part of the field had by a long way. He stil had to get it done, but the words candy and baby come to mind. :P

oh, and I also think its worth mentioning that Webber ceretainly got the better of RBR's pit strategies this weekend. That's something Webber fans often point out as some sort of conspiracy theory about RBR favouritism when it works against him.

....................................................

I haven't seen anything to suggest that both drivers don't have the same equipment at RBR. The fact he was the fastest car in the race by 1.4 sec shows there was nothing wrong with his car during qualifying. its parc ferme between then and the race apart from fuel, and tyre choice for those outside the top 10.

.................................

He did not necessarily have the fastest car at all, he put in the fastest lap. See this is where someone can take a fact and put a negative or a positive spin on it. It looks like most here are saying you are putting a negative spin on the facts Harry.

As I mentioned over on the other forum, Webber had to do a lot of his passes on the obviously dirty side of the track. Good tyres or not, to do that consistently takes exceptionally good driving skills because grip is going to be rubbish at that time no matter how good the tyres are. It seems fair to say that Webber, whatever his faults are, has a history of making good passes.

Button to replace Webber at RBR in 2012...

Prediction or news?

Webber on Kovaleinen, Valencia 2010 was a good one.

You wouldn't see Schumacher doing something that brain dead (he only crashes into someone if he will win from it).

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
